Planning Your Visit
How long should you stay in Florence?
A minimum of four nights will allow you to see the top sites without rushing from one to another. Give yourself a week or more for a full Renaissance immersion.
Getting around the city
The heart of Florence is compact, and you can easily explore all that the city has to offer by foot. The historical center is a UNESCO Heritage Site, and traffic is restricted from entering. If you're planning to rent a car for a trip around Tuscany, you'll have to park outside the "Limited Traffic Zone." Consider 15 euros extra per day for a parking garage space, since free parking is a rarity.
How expensive is Florence?
Keep in mind the entrance fees for the all the top sights, including the majority of churches. Although it's free to enter the Florence Cathedral, you'll have to buy a ticket to go up the dome for the breathtaking views. Restaurants in Italy also add a service fee called "pane e coperto" (literally "bread and cover"). It's an extra few euros charged per person seated at the table, but it's not a tip for your server.

What people are saying about Florence
This tour is awesome! It starts with some walking to a church in Sienna with a tour guide from the city (we were blessed to have a touring legend from Sienna give us a tour). The bus ride is smooth and they have water available if needed (which we took advantage of). The vineyard tour and wine tasting was great, and the food? To die for! We purchased 6 bottles of wine after the tour ended haha (they ship if you prefer that, we just took them with us). Our day ended with a quick trip to pisa to see the leaning tower. Great tour, awesome value, and our guide Manolo is the best tour guide we EVER HAD!
MANOLO OUR TOUR GUIDE IS AMAZING!!!!!! The bus ride was smooth and air conditioned. The multiple options for travel or not to hike or food was perfect for us as we wanted to walk as little as possible in the heat. Bring your swimwear if you want to dip into the water! I can’t talk much about the hike as we opted out, but do OPT IN FOR THE LUNCH! it was great food that’s served fast. Definitely do this tour if you can!
Constantine was AMAZING! So funny and knowledgeable. The wineries were beautiful and the wine was even better. They had snacks to pair with the tasting as well. Raul was an expert driver and navigated the incredibly windy roads with ease. Members of our group were prone to getting car sick and didn’t have a problem at all. Would absolutely recommend!
This was an ideal way to see Cinque Terre in a day—our guide was knowledgeable and offered great recommendations to personalize for our family. We appreciated that the transportation was spotless and comfortable for the 2 hour trip from Florence. Highly recommend and would book other private tours through the service.
Had a great experience with the Tuscan tour. I wish they did a seperate package that left out pisa but gave more time at Siena and San gimiano instead. Our guide Elisa was very helpful and friendly. Totally recommend this experience to anyone in Florence.
