We took a sightseeing tour of Peterhofnpalace and gardens with GYG! Pardon me, but i have forgotten the name of our guide. She was extremely knowledgeable, helpful and funny! She gave us just the right amount of insight about the Russian culture, and did not bombard us with a history lesson. All in all, it was a great experience. Much recommended!

  • St Petersburg: Peterhof Tour with Return by Hydrofoil

    2. St Petersburg: Peterhof Tour with Return by Hydrofoil

This tour will take you to the Peterhof palaces and parks, conceived by the Peter the Great as a seaside residence, and unmatched in Europe. The Grand Palace was designed to capture the imagination of foreign visitors and includes the first picture gallery in Russia. The estate's Lower Park lies between the Grand Palace and the seashore and boasts the world's largest system of fountains, earning it the title 'the Russian Versailles'. The park's unique fountain system was designed in the 18th century and doesn't require the use of any pumps to operate the fountains. There are three major cascades and over 140 fountains in the park. The most impressive is the Grand Cascade, located directly below the Grand Palace, which features an impressive golden statue of Samson grasping the mighty jaws of the lion. After visiting the palace and walking through the park you will enjoy a hydrofoil tri...

Anna, our guide, was early, took us on a tour through St Petersburg on the way to Peterhof. She was very knowledgeable about the history, the architecture and anything thing else we could ask. She was prepared with tickets and guided pass most of the crowds. Anna spoke excellent English and I would highly recommend this tour with Anna.

There are so many options of ways to get to Peterhof & tours to choose from, that I glad I chose a guided tour & travel by road to Peterhof; as there is so much more too see & be shown on the journey out through St Petersburg! Petershof, the palace & gardens are magnificent. The origin & history of Petershof is fascinating & then one needs to appreciate the restoration that has gone (been ongoing) after the Second World War, its a sobering but beautiful experience to be there “today”! My appreciation & thanks to all who have made this possible! My guide Valeria made the whole tour come to life with her insights, knowledge & passion of Petershof & St Petersburg. What a memorable & highly recommended tour & guide!

Only the one in the tour do I got the best of everything My tour guide Yana is an exceptional one explaining the history, art, and philosophies of Russia in a very fun manner. She loves what she does and that makes the whole tour better! We had some awesome borscht too after the tour and Alexis the driver toured us around the city too.

Both guide and driver were very knowledgeable and helpful. Pick up and drop off were on time. The car was clean. The guide also explained the history of St. Petersburg as well as outer cities (on our way to the palaces). All in all, it was fun and informative.

Very enjoyable excursion. Personal guide was very friendly and knowledgeable. Would recommend this tour to anyone.
