Julia, our tour guide was very knowledgable and organised. The skip the line was worth it as the queues were all the way round to St Peter’s Square. This is not a reflection of the tour but the entry into the Sistine Chapel was very crowded and what should have been a serene and reflective place was ruined by guards shouting at people to move on, keep the sides clear and stop taking photos. Tour also only included 10 mins in Sistine Chapel which was not enough time to appreciate it fully we thought. It’s worth noting that the museums tour is a whistle stop tour for around 2 hours and it misses a large section of it. It’s also fast paced. If you’re looking for access to all areas, and lots of time to ponder, choose a different tour. St Peter’s Basilica is by far the highlight. Absolutely stunning and as this tour also allows you to skip the main line and second security check, again well worth it. I would return to the Basilica again but probably wouldn’t do the tour again.

We LOVED our tour with Saverio. It was very clear how much knowledge and passion he has for the Roman culture and the Vatican museums. He was hilarious and respectable at the same time. We honestly wished that we could have had him as a guide for everything we did in the city. The next time we go to the city we will be personally reaching out to him for other tours.

Our guide was Francesco P! His accent and enthusiasm was the absolute best. I was super engaged when he told stories of all the different pieces. He truly wanted us to have the full experience going back to the little details in history all the way to the symbolic meanings. I’m really happy he was our guide and I would say well worth our time and experience. I will say this is kind of a side note but make sure to eat a good filling breakfast before the tour so you are ready to walk and engage. I would also bring a water with you as you may be thirsty from the walking and heat.
