Full description
Admire the opulent Royal Apartments and private family bedrooms within the mansion. See the twin desks where Queen Victoria and Prince Albert worked. Explore the magnificently decorated Durbar Room. The furniture and artifacts reveal intricate details about entertainment at Osborne, from state banquets to family meals. Currently, only the lower floor of Osborne House is open for visitors to view. See where the royal children played house and tended their own gardens down at the Swiss Cottage. There's a room dressed as it was on 11th July 1861, when the children prepared afternoon tea for their parents, not long before Prince Albert's tragic death.  Stroll in the pleasure gardens, alongside historic trees, and enjoy the Victorian Walled Garden much as the royal couple did. Take a trip down to the royal family's once jealously guarded private beach, with Victoria's restored bathing machine.

Gorgeous house & gardens to visit - took our dog who we knew was allowed in the grounds, but not the house (obviously). Wonderful place of history to visit - the beach at the bottom of the gardens - wow. However, no dogs allowed on that either, which I thought was a shame, (dogs had to stay on leads so couldn't see a problem if they were allowed on but maybe I'm missing something). Toilet facilities all round & good - clean. Nice cafe area (but again no dogs inside, so not sure what happens when raining (umbrellas/covers would be good). Overall a really enjoyable day. Lots of walking, but gentle! It's a 'must see' in my opinion.

Really enjoyed the whole visit and could have spent all day there. 3hours wasn’t long enough! Very concerned however about the number of visitors permitted inside Osborne house. A bottle neck developed around QV bedroom and several of our group became quite claustrophobic there as there just wasn’t enough air or space. (Interestingly we all passed through separately so it wasn’t a mass hysteria event) and judging by the reaction of the guides they were quite used to this happening so we couldn’t understand why steps hadn’t been taken to correct it.

Wonderfully maintained & very interesting! Well worth a visit & magnificent gardens to walk in & a great view of the private beach. Easy to imagine Queen Victoria & Prince Albert and their family spending time here. Very interesting to see how talented Queen Victoria & her many children were.
