Full description
Rich with cultural and historic significance, My Son sanctuary is one of the most beautiful and important religious sites in Vietnam. Your tour starts early, with pickup from your expert English-speaking guide at 8:00 AM - 8:30 AM. After a stunning drive through amidst lush hills and rushing rivers, you’ll arrive at the My Son at 10:00 AM — still early enough to beat the heat. Wandering through the ruins of ancient temples to the Hindu god Shiva, your guide will recount the fascinating history of the kingdom of Champa, whose religious leaders began the construction of My Son in the 4th-century. See the ornate towers, now covered with bright green grass, with ornate pillars still suggesting the beauty of the complex when it was built. After 2.5 hours of exploring, you’ll hop on a colorful boat bound back for Hoi An, where you’ll gather more priceless insight from your guide while you enjoy a local vegetarian lunch. Drifting down the Thu Bôn River, you'll get a further taste of the verdant beauty of the Vietnamese countryside, flanked by mountains and jungles on either side. By 2:30 PM you’ll be back at Nguyen Hoang pier in Hoi An, ready to take on the rest of your day.

We got pick up from our hotel until Hoi An, where we got another bus to My Son Sanctuary. We had the opportunity after visiting the ruins to see a local show and we head to “Ganesa Restaurant” for lunch (vegetarian option available). Before the boat we had a small bus ride to the dock, where we got a boat. The boat tour I though was longer and until Hoi An. It was 30min and we still ride the bus a little bit until Hoi An. Amazing place to visit. They allowed us to explore the place before the dropoff to our hotel in Da Nang. Well Done!!!

Great guide and driver. Great service. Make sure you are comfortable and stay hydrated. The lunch is very full. Plenty of rice, vege, pork chop, omelette and a bowl of soup. Each person have their own portion. Banana for dessert. But in terms of explaining, compare with other guides that I have overheard.. is a bit lacking. Or else we are having fun thru out the whole journey. Thanks Queen & Turtle!

You get what you pay for. You are picked up and taken directly to My Son and the guide briefly describes each temple as you go along. The only regret is that you don't get much time to explore on your own and only 30 mins. I opted for the boat ride at the end of the tour which was a bit of fun instead of sitting on the bus back to town. A light lunch was included (nothing fancy).
