    Full description
    Visit the former Nazi concentration camps at Auschwitz I and Auschwitz II-Birkenau on this 7-hour trip from Krakow. By June 1940, Jews and over 700 political criminals had been sent to Auschwitz and the atrocities had begun. Birkenau was built by Auschwitz prisoners and by October 1941 was used as an extermination camp. Between 1 and 1.5 million were killed, and approximately 90 percent of those killed were Jews. Before Auschwitz-Birkenau was liberated in January 1945, the SS attempted to blow up the camp and destroy the documentation. They were only partially successful, and the Polish government decided to restore the site as a memorial to the victims.

    Wonderful tour with a very knowledgeable guide (Dave Kennedy). Although a very somber experience, it felt important, and the guide created the perfect atmosphere. I highly recommend this tour. The pick up and drop off from the hotel made it very easy to navigate. The communication between the shuttle company and myself was very good, and they gave us plenty of time to prepare.

    I have to say it was an immensely powerful experience and everyone should try to see it. I will definitely never forget that and that is a good thing.     Pick up directly at the hotel by modern air-conditioned minivan. An hour of travel with the vision of the documentary on the liberation of auschwitz. Arrived, 4.5 hours tour with super component guide in Italian. Return to the hotel always by private minibus. Skip-the-line tickets also. Great and touching experience. To do at least once in a lifetime.
