  • Enter deep sea caves, archways, waterfalls and blowholes

Full description
The cruise travels beneath the highest vertical sea cliffs in the Southern Hemisphere at Cape Pillar. Guests explore waterfalls, rock formations, archways and deep-sea caves. The coastline is part of the Tasman National Park. It is home to a variety of wildlife including hundreds of seals, migrating whales and abundant sea birds in their thousands. At any time of year you're likely to see the feeding frenzy of diving gannets, albatross and sea eagles wheeling on the wind, cliff-nesting cormorants and peregrine falcons, or a pod of playful dolphins surfing the bow wave of the boat. The custom built yellow boats are ideal for viewing the spectacular coastline and wildlife of the Tasman Peninsula. Each vessel holds a maximum of 43 guests. Covered open-air tiered seating means an excellent all-round view and connection with the environment. The boats are safe, comfortable and gentle on the environment due to their fuel efficiency and low emission operation.

Being someone who suffers from seasickness I was rather nervous about undertaking this tour. The coastline is stunning and it is awesome to experience it from the sea level. We were fortunate enough to see a Sun Fish, a Blue Whale, Albatross as well as lots of Dolphins. I would recommend this for anyone however; I was very grateful for the offer of the ginger tablets prior to leaving the wharf. Damo was a bit of a legend with his dry wit and history lessons along the bus ride to the boat. The skipper also was mindful of how myself and daughter were feeling along the cruise and checked in on us regularly which was appreciated.

We had an incredible trip. Staff were very informative. We saw a small whale breaching night next to the boat. There was a large pod of dolphins competing with the gorgeous seals for the school of fish. The landscape of the cliffs and going into the caves was very cool. All in all I would highly recommend this tour

Lily and Nick did a great job making sure that everyone was well informed and enjoyed the trip. This cruise was great and if you get a chance I would recommend doing it if you’re in Port Arthur. Be sure to be rugged up as you may return in a dozen stage and require thawing out.
