The tour was great, but booking online was not great. After trying several time we ended up booking through GetYourGuide which is an UK company and were charged international transaction fee for paying on our credit card. (No other way to pay). Not impressed that the Adelaide Oval cannnot run its own booking service for this tour option.

It was a terrific opportunity to wander around our magnificent Adelaide Oval. To be a tourist in our home town. I had done the tour previously a few years ago but was very happy to do it again as we visited different parts of the oval and different features were highlighted. Great experience for the young and not so young.

This circular walking tour explores all aspects of this modern event stadium. Commencing from the main entrance, it took us around the public entry galleries, down through the spectator seating & onto the synthetic pitch perimeter. Groundsmen were preparing the grass playing surface for the first game of the Australian Football season. Down further to the visitors change rooms, then up to the original commemorative entry gates. Along further, a special treat, into the large, original & still used timber scoreboard. Mechanical pulleys, electric light indicators & all. The next modern grandstand incorporates some original stone arched walls clad with grapevines. It also houses the impressive Sheffield Shield Room. Upstairs we saw one of the private glazed spectator boxes, which provides important funds for running the Oval. After the full circuit our excellent volunteer guide returned us back to where we started.
