    1. Fairbanks: Moonlight Dog Sled, Dinner, & Northern Lights

Experience the beauty and wild side of Alaska. Yanking on their lines and ready to run, your dog team will be anxious to carry you away from your Fairbanks accommodation to this spectacular viewing of the Northern Lights. Most of the sled ride takes place in an open area so should the Aurora begin early you will have a thrilling view of the sky from the dogsled. The Aurora Borealis is one of the planet's most breathtaking phenomena. In Alaska, a land that stays dark for most of the winter, these spectacular lights bring the sky to life with other-worldly colors that shimmer and dance across the sky. The yurt is only a short drive from Fairbanks but far from the obstructing glare of city lights. Be treated to a hearty midnight dinner in an off-the-grid yurt.  Stay warm with hot drinks and lively conversation in the comfort of your yurt while waiting for the Aurora. The large north-facin...

Your 1-hour dog mushing adventure begins right at your Fairbanks accommodation. You don't need to plan how to get here; get picked up and dropped off at your Fairbanks hotel. Today it is a fascinating sport and hobby. But it was once the only means of transportation through the snowy lands of old time Alaska. Five stars all the way! This experience was one of the highlights of our trip to Alaska. The nighttime dog mushing was an amazing way to see the dogs do what they love - running. The owner of the property and kennel was our musher. He called our Aurora experience a nighttime rainbow, which is the best way I know to describe the green light display we saw that night. There was another musher named Jody, who took the other couple on our tour out. Jody is a native Alaskan and had interesting stories to tell. The driver from our hotel and back, Joe, was from Alaska and told stories of his life growing up and living in AK. The food was good and the right amount for midnight meal. I HIGHLY recommend this for anyone considering a trip to Fairbanks. You don’t chase the northern lights on this tour, which we also did and also enjoyed. You do have a welcoming visit with Alaskans who want to welcome you to their home and their life.

It was an incredible experience. Cold but impressive, the guides provided us with extra clothes to tolerate the ride and also a blanket. The lovely dogs. It is something that must be lived at least once in a lifetime. We went as a family with my 9 year old daughter and she was fascinated. I totally recommend it ☺️
