Area Golden Bridges - Mount Kamen del - Aleko Hut Start the day with a short shuttle ride (30 minutes) to the Golden Bridges - the transition starting point -  where you will receive snowshoes and techniques to move with them. After walking on a beautiful, well-shaped forest trail for about thirty minutes, you'll reach the neat hut Momina Skala, built in a very picturesque place. After a short break, you will keep on reaching the main goal - Kamen Del peak (1862 m asl). The path after the cabin becomes more steep, and vegetation more dense and varied. Just when you start to feel tired, you'll go over the wooded belt, a vast plateau known as "Vitoshko". Soon you will reach the peak Kamen Del - the highest point of today's transition. Your efforts will be rewarded with an unforgettable panoramic view of the capital Sofia, as you distinguish the golden domes of Al. Nevsky, the old TV tower, NPC, and in the distance the bleaching peaks of Stara Planina. Continue walking along the border of reserve Torfeno branishte towards Aleko hut, where the bus will wait and take you to Sofia. Walking time: 3.5 hours. If you are willing and able to climb the peak Black Peak (2,290 altitude) that will extend the time of the tour by 2 hours.

At 9:00 AM you will be picked from your hotel/accommodation by your guide. After a short drive, you will reach Vitosha Mountain. Your destination is a meteorological tower, from which area you will have the chance to see the whole city from above. Your guide will give you a good overview of Sofia, its history and geography. Your next stop will be one of the most interesting and significant locations in Sofia – complex called “The Bells”. It is related to a Bulgarian initiative, which has started in 1979, called “The Flag of Peace”, gathering children from 135 countries, from both sides of “The Iron Curtain”. Each group had to put the unique bell from its country in this complex. After this experience, we will drive back to Sofia city center where you will start your walking tour. First stop is the National Archaeological Museum with its astonishing cultural treasures. On the way you will see the oldest building in Sofia – the Roman early Christian church St. George, dated in 4th-century. After the museum, you can have lunch in a restaurant situated in the same building, which was a Medieval mosque and enjoy the archaeological remains next to your table. Your next destination is the market area of Sofia, famous with the name “Ladies Market” where you will learn a lot for the epoch of the late 19th and early 20th century. You will pass next to a Synagogue, situated almost in front of an active mosque and Catholic Church, giving the name of the square – “The Square of tolerance. After you visit the Sofia History Museum you will walk by the Communist administrative center, St. Sofia church, Sofia University, and Alexander Nevski cathedral, where your tour ends. It was a fun experience. Fun group of people as well. The tour guides Michaela and Galena were exceptional. Would do it again. I Recommend this 100%, and it’s really worth a night.

A fun evening! I was travelling on my own In Bulgaria so was a perfect way to Experience the night life of Sofia with all sorts of interesting company from around the world!

A really great tour carried out for my group of 12. The tour guides, Toto, Johan and Mikela took us to some brilliant pubs.
