Almería: Small-Group Alcazaba Tour

2. Almería: Small-Group Alcazaba Tour

After gathering with your guide at the meeting point, your guide will delve straight into telling you many things about this great monument. From your meeting point you will walk to the entrance of the Alcazaba where you can enjoy its 3 enclosures. The first thing you will go through will be the Justice Gate, since it was the gateway to the fortress and is a replica of the Justice Gate of the Alhambra in Granada. You will cross the large gardens of the first enclosure, which is the largest of the three and has also followed the design of the Generalife de la Alhambra Gardens. From there you will observe the Cerro de San Cristóbal, as well as the remains of the Jayrán Wall, which is the wall that surrounded the city of Al-Mariyat. You will then access the second enclosure through the Wall of the Candle to see the Quibla Wall, until you reach the area of the residence of the kings. You will then see the Aljibe and San Juan church, a church rebuilt by the Catholic Monarchs during the reconquest, as well as the pool and gardens that decorate this large enclosure. Finally you will visit the third enclosure, the highest part of the monumental complex, which is the most recent of them all. In addition, you will visit the areas where the famous Game of Thrones series has been recorded. Towards the end of your tour, your guide will show you to the area where you can observe the sea port of the city and will take photos, and following your experience you will have free time to enjoy the monument.

We really liked the tour, Eduardo, the guide, showed us the citadel from a historical perspective, told us about the history of the city of Almería and the changes that both the citadel and the entire city have undergone throughout history. We would not have seen things the same if we had gone on our own.

We had a great time our guide was really great in all his explanations he made the effort to make us all François when it was not planned a big thank you to him. This place and really to see in order to better understand the history of Spain

I really liked the gardens and walking through each part of the Alcazaba and learning about its history. The guide Ángela explained everything very well and the visit was enjoyable.

The guide, Marcos, who is passionate about his city, made the route great with a description of the Alcazaba, entertaining, easy to follow and complete.

The guide took the time to tell the history of the Alcazaba, which is very interesting. With her we went all over the place.
