Start your day when you are picked up at your hotel or apartment in Colmar before beginning your tour through the Alsace in a comfortable air-conditioned minivan.  Departing from the historical center of Colmar, you will pass through the wine route along the beautiful vineyards and little villages, from there you can explore the typical Alsatian architecture which is magical, colorful, and unique. You will make a stop at the four wonders of the Alsace as they are called. The first one is Eguisheim, one of the most beautiful villages in France. Then drive further along the Alsatian wine route, immerse yourself in the world of vineyards and products which make the Ribeauvillé and Riquewihr region’s reputation.  To test the region’s wine reputation, you will visit a typical wine cave and you can taste a big variety of wines such as Gewurztraminer, Riesling, Pinot noir, and many more.  Your tour will end with Kaysersberg, where its high fortress dominates the city and serves as a reminder of both its strategic importance and its warlike past. After visiting these 4 wonders, our driver will bring you safely back to Colmar.

You’ll depart Strasbourg in the morning and make your first stop on this day-long tour in Colmar. Discover the charm of the old town, and visit the Pfister house, the Koïfhus, St. Martin’s Collegiate Church, and the picturesque neighborhoods of Little Venice. Explore the lovely village of Eguisheim, surrounded by vineyards. Admire its narrow streets, and the half-timbered houses with their colorful flowers.  Continue on to the fortified town of Riquewirh. Surrounded by ramparts, the village has survived wars and remained intact. See its tiny streets, fortified walls, and 16th-century houses, admiring the architectural harmony. You’ll have free time to explore the town and have lunch. After lunch you’ll follow the scenic Alsace Wine Route. Situated between the Rhine valley and the Vosges mountain range, the 60-year-old route winds across hilly slopes for over 170 kilometers. When you reach Haut Koenigsbourg Castle your guide will take you on a tour of the mighty fortress that overlooks the valley. Built during the 12th century, the Castle occupied a strategic position controlling the wine and wheat routes to the north and the salt route from the east.

Discover the traditional winemaking process the Alsace region in a family-owned winery from 1778. Enjoy a tour of the winery, that is now in organic conversion, followed by a wine-tasting and lunch of Alsatian specialties. Your experienced guide will take you down into the cellar from 1850 where you will discover the traditional Alsace winemaking process still in use at the winery today. Every part of the process will be explained; from the grapes to bottling. You’ll then get to sample the results! You will then enjoy lunch in the beautiful renovated shop, which was previously the cellar. You’ll taste Alsatian specialties, including a delicious soup, as well as an Alsatian meat pie with vegetables. Dessert will serve as the end of your winery tour, but bottles will be available to purchase as a souvenir of your Alsace winery tour.

Head out on a half-day tour of the Alsace region and learn about this enchanting wine regions. Leaving Strasbourg, you will follow the wine route on the way to the town of Obernai. As you travel, your driver will tell you about the 7 different types of Alsace wines. Once in Obernai, take a guided walking tour of the winding streets, old houses with multicolored tiles, ensigns, and ramparts, and see the statue of St Odile, the patron saint of Alsace. Then stop at your first winery for a tasting session. Continue on to visit another winery in a typical Alsace caveau (a small wine cellar). Afterward, make your way back to Strasbourg, admiring the beautiful landscapes along the way.

Depart Colmar and travel by fully equipped minivan through the rolling hills covered in vines and medieval castle ruins. Begin your guided walking tour in Kaysersberg, a village famous for its quaint half-timbered, cobbled streets, and enjoy some free time here to explore by yourself. Then, follow the Alsace wine route and stop along the way for great photo opportunities. Arrive in Riquewihr for a guided walking tour of this magnificent small town. Surrounded by vineyards, this fortified town is a jewel. The village is full of beautifully-colored, half-timbered residences and facades decorated with old shop signs. Omnipresent flowers and creepers add to the charm of the village. From there, head to Hunawihr, the last stop and one of the most beautiful villages in France, known for its numerous artisan shops and multiple cultural landmarks.

Head south departing from Strasbourg where the first stop will be in Bergheim, a superb village on the wine route that contains many hidden wonders within its medieval walls. You will then have the opportunity to visit the charming town of Ribeauvillé, the ancient fief of the Lords of Ribeaupierre. History will call out to you on every one of its pedestrian streets.  After a visit to Hunawihr and a photo stop in front of its famous fountain, enjoy lunch in the village of Riquewihr, one of the best known in the region —  particularly renowned because of its idyllic location in the heart of the vineyard. The tour will continue to two villages that are equally famous for their historical character: Kaysersberg and Eguisheim. These two villages have been elected “Favorite Villages of the French", a famous French program celebrating the year of the French’s favorite villages. Kaysersberg won the edition in 2017 and Eguisheim in 2013. Head back to Strasbourg at the end of the afternoon, after a day filled with great memories and beautiful images.

Begin your full-day wine tour in the Mittelbergheim wine region, home to the Zotzenberg, Kastelberg, and Wiebelsberg Grand Crus. The soils here are particularly favorable for Riesling.
