Full description
Our experience begins with a warm welcome from our team who will guide you throughout this awesome class, describing what we will do in the following few hours. We will start with a tour of our typical terraced gardens, an ancient local cultivation method that represent a resource of sustainability and environmental conservation on the Amalfi Coast. Here we will stroll by and linger at the lemon grove, the olive grove and the vineyard, where you will be provided with significant information on the importance of these groves in the Mediterranean diet and how our worldwide famous Limoncello, olive oil and wine are produced. We will continue our visit to the vegetable garden, and after wearing gloves and collecting wicker baskets, we will proceed with the picking of the freshest seasonal veggies and fragrant herbs that we will later use for the preparation of the delicacies during the class. Once we have put on our kitchen aprons we will be ready to get down to business and learn the secrets of preparing exquisite traditional dishes, which we will then go on to enjoy all together during a wonderful meal accompanied by local wine, limoncello and real Neapolitan espresso. As a perfect finale to our gastronomic experience, feel free to relax in the relaxation area at the lemon grove, sipping a glass of wine or lulling yourself in our comfortable hammocks enjoying the splendid coastal view.

Meeting point

Meeting point is at "Amalfi Heaven Gardens", right up the stairs in front of G.A.S. Bar, just a kilometer far from the center of Amalfi and easily reachable on foot, by bus or by car (not recommended due to the very few parking spots available). If you are coming by car you should consider to arrive at least a hour early in order to be sure to find parking. DO NOT leave the car parked on the road: it might be removed by the police with a fine. Car parking: GAS BAR Parking (https://g.page/GAS-Bar-Amalfi?share). If nobody is at the parking, ask inside of GAS BAR, right next to it. Alternative parking in the center of Amalfi open 24/7: LUNA ROSSA Parking (https://goo.gl/maps/4HnFbdY2TJn). Due to the very few parking spots available, it's strongly recommended not to come by car though. On foot or public ferries and buses are the best way to get to Amalfi and to the gardens.

Silvio and the team were absolutely amazing and welcoming. The cooking experience holds a maximum of 10 people to make it engaging and personal. Our group was fun and full of terrific conversation. It is clear that Silvio is passionate about giving people a wonderful experience and is as authentic as anybody can be. The food and wine was divine to the point of being completely stuffed with a big smile.

This was not just a cooking class, but an Italian experience were you felt like you were part of a big Italian family. The atmosphere were great, the food was amazing, and Silvio and his team showed us around his garden where they made you feel at home. You could really feel how passionated Silvio was about his cooking and telling about the Amalfi coast which made the experience even more special. This was by far the best thing that we did our whole trip, and I recommend everyone to pay Silvio a visit.

Where do I begin!? 9 days into our trip + this is still the highlight! Everything about this experience was so thoughtful + authentic. Silvio, Mamma Rosetta + the team were the best hosts - they aim for a ‘family’ vibe, + that is exactly how it felt. You start by learning about the gardens + picking fresh vegetables to then cook, and cooking 4 DELICIOUS appetizers alongside local wine and music. It was a max of 10 people, which was a great way to get to know other travelers/our fellow chefs! For our main dish, we made handmade gnocchi - but we also expressed wanting to make another pasta dish, which was super fun. The class ends with a signed diploma from Mamma Rosetta, a group photo - and throughout, you have an incredible Amalfi coast/ocean view! I could not recommend this class more, and will continue to think about it :)
