Amalfi Coast: Boat and Snorkeling Tour with a Captain

1. Amalfi Coast: Boat and Snorkeling Tour with a Captain

Board an Amalfitan Gozzo boat for a scenic ride along the Amalfi coast. Admire natural wonders, including the Natural Arch and Faraglioni Rocks. Swim and snorkel or relax on the shores of secluded beaches. Once everybody has jumped on board and had a little briefing about how you're going to spend the day, you will be ready to set off to the west towards Positano. The route will take you along Amalfi Coast’s finest beaches as well as close to natural rock arches and into sea caves, giving you the opportunity to admire the old watchtowers that dot the entire length of this coast. You will pause at beaches reachable only by sea and have time to go snorkeling or swimming in crystal-clear waters and into grottoes. Not too far from the starting point, right after leaving the center of Amalfi, you will get close to Saint Andrew's Grotto, a huge natural sea cave full of stalactites named after the patron saint of Amalfi (Andrea). Then, once passed Duoglio and Santa Croce beaches, you will stop by the "Arc of Lovers", a natural rock arch created millions of years ago by the erosion of the sea whose shape recalls two elephants in the act of kissing. Up to not too long ago young couples used to get married on the top of it. A little later you will cruise in front of the ancient fishing village of Conca dei Marini, passing near the villa of Sophia Loren and seeing the historic hotel “Il Saraceno” located on La Vite Beach. From here you will also have a stunning view of the Santa Rosa Monastery, a former convent now converted into a luxury hotel, once home of the Dominican nuns. It's right in the kitchens of this monastery that the delicious "Sfogliatella Santa Rosa" was born, a shell-shaped pastry filled with ricotta cheese-based cream and little dried fruit pieces, typical of the local culinary tradition (don't forget to taste it before leaving!). Once past the seaside of Conca dei Marini you will enter its western basin, where you will have a beautiful view of Furore and Praiano villages and the islands of Li Galli and Capri, together with the well-known Faraglioni Rocks. Further inside this basin we will find the little Runghetiello Grotto and its tiny beach, where you will anchor for a break to go swimming or snorkeling. You will reach then the famous Furore Fjord, the only natural fjord in Italy and location of the international diving competition "MarMeeting": every year in July, professional divers from around the world compete by jumping from the top of the bridge which is 28 meters high. Navigating a little farther onward to the village of Praiano you will be able to have a close look at a bigger sea cave, the Africana Grotto, where the water has a distinctive blue color thanks to the unique refraction of light. Finally you will go round Capo Sottile and continue cruising to Positano, where you will have another break for snorkeling at a beach reachable only by the sea and so not crowded at all: La Porta. The return trip to Amalfi will give you a different but equally remarkable view of both sea and land.

This was an amazing day trip we took from Rome! We booked for 6 people (3 couples) and had so much fun. JB and Cristiano were THE BEST, you have to request them. (Although JB was “terrible and had no sense of humor”— complete joke! ) We can’t wait to come back and book with them again. The tour of Pompeii was incredible, the stops along the coast were perfect, and the friendships we made will be forever etched in our hearts. THANK YOU J.B. and Cristiano for a day to remember! We had a great experience of the Amalfi coast. We visited the cities of Ravello and Amalfi. Antonio was a great driver and a better guide. Not only he took us to those cities but stopped on the way to let us take some good pictures. He made sure we were comfortable and that we enjoyed the day, without being mindful of time, which is something very much appreciated as you lose sense of time. All in all a wonderful day for a wonderful destination Thank you so much Antonio

This was a very fun and exciting experience. The zipline is high and long so goes without saying that its not for those with a fear of heights. Worth planning your journey there beforehand whether you drive, taxi or walk. We decided to take the 1000+ steps to get there in the morning and arrived earlier than expected. We had to wait a little while to get ready but after that, everything worked very smoothly.

The trip was amazing and our guides were very helpful. Our tour guide at Pompeii was very informative and overall was a great guide and very funny. We all enjoyed the trip very much and would do it again.

Excellent driver, excellent guide, most amazing experiences - we loved the whole day. Well worth it, always felt like we were looked after very well.
