Discover the islands of Lake Titicaca on this 2-day tour from Puno. Spend the night at a homestay on Amantani Island and learn about local traditions. Day 1: Uros Islands and Amantani Head to the legendary floating reed islands by motorboat. On Amantani Island the tour breaks into smaller groups for stays with local families. Trek to the top of the mountain to see the Temples of the Pachamama and Pachatata. Authentic food will be prepared and music performed by your designated family. Day 2: Taquile Island – Puno After breakfast, take a short boat ride to nearby Taquile island and meet locals known for their intricate weavings. Return to Puno after lunch, arriving between 3:15 PM and 3:30 PM.

Depart from Puno on the first day of the tour and head to the floating islands of Uros and marvel at the stunning scenery all around. Next, enjoy a 3-hour motorboat journey to the Amantani island and see local families running down the hill to welcome you. Meet your designated host family and immerse yourself in their traditional culture and way of life. Enjoy a typical lunch with the family made from natural local products and participate in intercultural activities until dinner time. After dinner, watch a traditional show with your family before spending the night at their home. On day two of the tour start with an early breakfast with your host family. After an emotional goodbye, it's time to depart to Taquile Island a traditional Quechua speaking community, located at the heart of the Lake Titicaca. Admire the beautiful harbor of Taquile and then walk up along a narrow path to the center of the island. Along the walk, gaze upon the breathtaking natural landscapes including the nearby Bolivian mountain range. Once you arrive at the top of the hike, listen to your local guide share stories and anecdotes about traditional life on Taquile. Later on, enjoy some free time to wander around and explore then relax at a local restaurant for lunch. Finally, descend to the harbor and hop aboard the boat back to Puno.

The excursion starts with a morning pick-up from the hotel to the main port in the city. Departing from Puno city, the boat stops in The Uros floating Islands, where the guide will explain the history, purpose, and the way to make floating islands. After the explanation you will have free time to walk along the island or just interact with the locals. Continuing with the trip the boat will head to Amantani Island where the local family will be waiting to take you to the house, Lunch will be prepared by the family using local products. In the afternoon the guide will take you to the top of the island to see one of the most amazing sunsets in Peru (optional), if not, just walk around the island enjoying the great views of Lake Titicaca. At night a welcome party organized by the locals will be held in the comunal room. Dinner and breakfast will be provided by the family. The second day after breakfast the leader of the family will take you to the island's pier to take a boat to ride to Taquile island, where you guide will explain the traditions of the islanders in Taquile which are very special compared with other places in the lake. Lunch will be served in a local restaurant in Taquile island. Return to Puno city on the second day.

First Day: Uros and Amantani Island  On this tour to Amantani, Uros and Taquile islands, passengers are picked up from hotels in downtown to the port, then take a comfortable motor boat. Your  guide (Spanish / English) will take you to the Uros floating islands (30 min travel time), before reaching Amantani (approx. 2.5 hours). Walk (30 min uphill) to local houses in Amantani Island, then eat a lunch provided by the islanders. There will be time for resting before walking to the top of the island to see the ceremonial Inca temples Pachamama and Pachatata, and you will also enjoy one of the best sunsets in the world. Return to the local house for dinner, then at night dance with the families (the party is optional). Second Day: Taquile and Sillustani After breakfast, descend to the port of Amantani (8:00 am) to take a boat towards Taquile island. Have lunch at the island and then return to the Port of Amantani (1:00 pm.) Arrive in Puno at around 3:30 pm. Your guide will then be waiting to take you Sillustani. Visit for approximately 1 hour before returning to Puno.
