Full description
This Amazon survival tour will bring you into contact with nature and you have the possibility to learn as much as possible about the forest. Day 1: At 8 AM, be transferred from your hotel to the Ceasa port. From there, journey by speed-boat to the "meeting of the water" (the point where the Negro river and the Solimões River meet). You'll then be taken to the village of Careiro da Vazea, on the other side of the river. Once at Careiro da Vazea, your journey continues by car for about 50 minutes to the River Paraná do Mamori. Switch to an exciting speedboat and arrive at Juma Floating Lodge at around 11:30 AM for lunch and to get ready for camping. In the afternoon, the activities begin: go by motorized boat to your camping place for the next few days. Set up camp and prepare yourself to go caiman spotting during the evening. Day 2: After an early morning wake up, travel by canoe to watch the sunrise and to experience the sights and sounds of the forest waking up to a new day. You'll then return for breakfast followed by a 3.5-hour jungle walk. During the walk, your guide will explain fascinating information about the forest and the animals that live within it—learn about medicinal plants, spiders, and the various types of trees. You might even get a chance to see some monkeys. In the afternoon, go canoeing in the flooded forest and through the small channels—a great opportunity to see and learn about the flora and fauna of this fantastic Amazon jungle. Follow it up by going fishing for some piranhas. Days 3 & 4 (optional): If the 3-Day option is booked: In the morning, visit a local family in their home to learn about their simple and fantastic ways of life in the forest. Head back to the lodge for lunch, and relax amid the sounds of the jungle. You'll depart for Manaus at 1:30 PM and arrive at approximately 4:30 PM. If the 4-Day option is booked: In the morning, visit a local family in their home to learn about their simple and fantastic ways of life in the forest. You will then leave by boat to a spot where you will go fishing for some piranhas and other species of fish. You will then return to camp and prepare them for dinner. On the last day, you will have another early morning hike through the jungle to spot some wildlife before beginning the trip back.
