Explore some of Jordan's most spectacular sites on a 2-day, private tour from Amman.  Day 1: Amman - Petra Depart Amman and travel south to Petra. Founded by the Nabateans, Petra is considered one of the wonders of the world. Located 139 miles (225 kilometers) from Amman, Petra was carved in stone more than 2,000 years ago. It dominated the trade routes of ancient Arabia. Upon arrival, walk the narrow path of the Siq to discover the main entrance to the city. At the end of the Siq, see the Treasury (al-Khazneh), which was believed to hold countless treasures. Continue to the monastery and Altar of Sacrifice. Then, transfer to Wadi Rum in the afternoon. Spend the night in a Bedouin camp and enjoy dinner and some nighttime activities. Day 2: Wadi Rum - Dead Sea After breakfast, drive to Wadi Rum by 4WD jeep. Wadi Rum ("Valley of the Moon") is where the legendary film "Lawrence of Arabia" was filmed. Marvel at the unique shape of the mountain as it rises from the rose-red sand of the desert. See towering cliffs of brownish, reddish, and golden colors.  Then transfer to the Dead Sea, famous for the biblical story of Sodom and Gomorrah. Located 400 meters below sea level, the Dead Sea is one of Jordan's most spectacular sites. Marvel at the calm waters glinting in the scorching sun. Legendary for its high concentration of salt and minerals, the Dead Sea is therapeutic and provides for a unique swimming experience. After some free time to swim, return to your hotel in Amman.

6. From Amman: Petra Private Tour

Following pick-up from your hotel in the morning, depart Amman and drive along the desert highway to Petra in Wadi Mousa. Petra has hundreds of sites; you could easily spend 3 days in Wadi Mousa and visit a different one each day. However, with the help of a local guide, it's possible to discover the main sites in just a few hours. A local guide will be at your disposal for 2 to 3 hours. Upon arrival at Petra, pass the Siq. Continue to the stunning Treasury carved into the sandstone rock. Then go to the Theatre and beautiful rock-carved Monastery. This is so huge that even the doorway is several stories tall. On the way to (or from) the Monastery, you can visit the Place of Sacrifice, located between the hills. Marvel at the 1,050 stairs that lead up to the site. Petra's name comes from the Latin word "petrae" ("rock") and the city lies in a great rift valley east of Jordan's Wadi Araba. It came into prominence in the late first BCE (BC) through the success of the spice trade. It was the principal city of ancient Nabataean and famous for its trade and hydraulic engineering systems. The city was autonomous until the reign of Trajan, but flourished under Roman rule. It grew up around its colonnades and followed the flow of the Wadi Musa. The quarries were probably opened during this period and continuous building followed throughout the first and second centuries CE. After you've seen the main sites of Petra and been to the Place of Sacrifice, return to the transfer vehicle and journey back to Amman.

The tour was excellent from start to finish . Petra was amazing , and we had plenty of time to explore . When we reached the Wadi Rum, the Jeep tour driver was waiting to take us out to the desert, wrapping up with a beautiful view of the sunset . Our tent was such a pleasant surprise , we had booked the deluxe tent and our bathroom ( including shower !) were both spacious and comfortable . The final day , since we had some extra time , we were treated to an side trip to the Red Sea where we took a glass bottom boat tour ($15 JD) . Final stop , Dead Sea , was an interesting experience. Small note , no full shower at the Crown Plaza , it is just the outside shower rinse . The ride to Amman only about 90 mins , but something to think about if you are planning to be dropped at the airport .

Was a wonderful experience we made the most of the two days. Our driver Jaffer was an excellent guide a very knowledgeable individual who knew the inside and outside of the tour he made sure he gave us the best highlights on the tour and made everything possible nothing was a bother .JTTP Jaffer is an asset to your company.

The tour to Petra, Wadi Rum, Aqaba and the Dead sea was more than excellent. I chose the classic tent and it was quite comfortable and the beduin dinner was very delicious. Our driver, Qutaibah, was very accommodating and knowledgeable. Without him, I wouldn’t have appreciated this beautiful country this much.

Loved it. The driver was amazing. Really enjoyed the drive there as much as seeing Petra. Couldn’t have been better.

We had an excellent tour with our guide Mohammad who was so informative and helpful over the few days.
