The trip was exactly as described, the GUID David was very nice, was able to tell a lot about the village and Amsterdam and responded to our wishes because the group was so small. The nature of the village was very beautiful, actually invites you to go hiking. This is a reconstructed village that is a kind of unofficial open-air museum. However, all the houses except for the windmills (apart from individual residential buildings) are all just tourism shops, ie souvenir shops with kitsch. The clog workshop is also a shop. However, an employee uses authentic tools to show how shoes were manufactured industrially in the past. This "cheese factory" is a pure cheese shop. The apple pie in the cafe was delicious. The windmill was really interesting, we saw it from the inside. It was the only entry fee, this ticket was included in the ride.

Great half day tour from Amsterdam, definitely at the top of my list of experiences in the Netherlands. Small group (8 or less), excellent tour guide, and beautiful scenery at Zaanse Schans. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. Able to see a dutch clog demonstration, Gouda cheese shop, small chocolate shop, and ample time at an operating windmill all within a half day without feeling rushed.
