What people are saying about Antigua Guatemala

This tour was amazing! Our guide Dario (sp?) was incredibly kind and knowledgeable. He stopped along the path to teach us about the volcano, plants, and history. Our Spanish was limited so he spoke some English for us until another traveler translated. The best parts were the incredible views, roasting marshmallows and grilling our peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, and skiing down a portion of the trail. Dario even took a video of us and sent it! The whole experience was wonderful and we are very grateful we had the opportunity to do such a unique tour.

It was an awesome hike. I’m so happy we had someone in the group who could translate so we could hear all the amazing knowledge. We actually ended up making friends on the hike and had dinner after which was special. The hike was challenging but worth it. The only complaint was the people on the horses who kept asking the whole way up if we wanted to ride the horse. They would not take no for an answer. I understand it’s their livelihood but it was annoying whenever we took a break or a breather to be hounded. Other than that we had a great time!

This is a good value excursion to a Volcano area. On time pickup, a friendly engaged guide despite my lack of Spanish, a well covered tour and on time drop off. The climb is reasonably tough but anyone reasonably fit can do it. The track is rough and rocky so wear good boots. The Getyourguide people were very good and efficient.

One of the best things I've ever done! The hike up takes about 1.5 hours and about an hour to come down. Some parts were steep and a little challenging, but you can rent a horse to get to the top. The amazing views were well worth the climb, would definitely do it again!

It was perfect and the tour guide was excellent! He was very patient and shared his knowledge about the volcano throughout the hike. Definitely recommend it!
