The city bus tour including the Sausalito shuttle service was good and included all the main sights. We had problems with confirming the timing of our Alcatraz tour since we were at sea cruising from Vancouver to San Francisco prior to our visit and were therefore unable to exchange our voucher 48 - 24 hrs beforehand. Since we also had no internet access during this period, we did not receive the confirmation for our Alcatraz tour timing until we arrived at the office on the day. We had been allocated a late tour at 3.20 pm and consequently had to curtail our time on the rock to catch the return ferry. We had specifically asked for a morning tour originally, but were advised that the bus company had no control over the timings on the combined booking. Hence, we may have done better to book the Alcatraz tour independently with the ferry company and not as a combo ticket. The Alcatraz self guided audio tour was well done but we could have used an extra hour to complete it fully.

Alcatraz way cooler than expected, bus a great way to see the city!

Our bus commentator (not on every bus) was hilarious and informative. When we were on a bus without the live person, the recorded info was great to listen to as well. Doing the combo tour let us see alcatraz when tickets were sold out everywhere! Alcatraz was also a welcome surprise. So much cooler than anticipated. We listened to the audio and hopped back on the boat. Took about 1 hour. We were cramming our days so didn't have much more time to spend than that, but definitely worthwhile!

The older gentleman guide when we got on the bus had a very gravelly, monotone voice that was hard to listen to. We had to get off and wait for another bus. That next bus had recorded male and female voices much easier to listen to and hear, but recorded doesn’t allow for the extra information a live guide can provide. And passing through tunnels made it impossible to hear the guides if they were talking at that time.

Good bus tour! Only downside was that it was too windy for us to go and see Alcatraz and the island was closed. The team at the big bus tour was super apologetic and gave us tickets to madam tousad’s to make up for it and the refund from get your guide was processed quickly. Much appreciated!

Alcatraz was amazing ! The boat ride was smooth going there and going back. It was a little cold being on the bus, started raining but all part of the experience. Loved it all. The audio on the first bus we got was not working couldn’t hear much tho.
