Full description

Travel back in time on a 2-day tour to the archaeological site of Delphi and the historic Orthodox monasteries built on the rocks of Meteora.

Day 1:

Depart Athens for the ancient site of the Oracle of Delphi. Travel by air-conditioned coach through the pretty towns and villages of Thebes, Levadia, and Arachova on the slopes of Mount Parnassus. Explore the ruins of the ancient sanctuary of Pythia on arrival. Then, continue to Kalabaka for your overnight stay.

Day 2:

Marvel at the stunning rock formations of Meteora, and visit the monasteries built to serve the monks and nuns following the teachings of the Eastern Orthodox Church. Return to Athens via Trikala and Lamia. Stop at Thermopylae to look at the monument to the Greek warrior king Leonidas I before your arrival in Athens in the early evening.

It was a great experience, the stops in Delphi and Meteora where not short, considering the lack of time at hand. Breakfast and dinner where included, both of which where of good quality, as was the hotel in Kalabaka. Professionally organised with top notch tour guides. Would recommend to anyone.

Well the guides that accompanied us and the places visited. It would only have been good to finish the visit to the museum in Delphi like the people who only do the 1-day excursion. They visited him and arrived only a little later for lunch. The hotel was quite low quality.

The first guide was not too detailed and left out the details of the explanations from English to Italian. The second great guide George. The trip was beautiful and well organized. 3 star hotel but wonderful in the center of the village of kalambaka so I could also visit a wonderful church. A thousand thanks
