Full description

Enjoy a one-day tour to the most famous greek island. The bus will transfer you to the airport of Athens early in the morning, with plane departure at 615AM and the flight lasts 50 minutes. Upon arrival at the airport of Mykonos, you will get transferred to the city center by the local bus.

Having arrived in the city center early in the morning, you will have a unique chance to explore it and enjoy its beauty while it is still quiet and not crowded. First, you will join a 60-minute walking tour among the whitewashed houses, with your tour leader.

Be excited as you are walking along the labyrinthine narrow lanes surrounded by traditional buildings that compose the unique architectural style of the island. During the walking tour, you will visit the Little Venice of Mykonos, where the famous pelican strolls.

If you are lucky enough, you may see him opening wide his wings to impress all those people who stop to take a picture with this beautiful bird! The tour leader will lead you up to the windmills hill, which is one of the most popular sightseeing spots of the island. There you will have a panoramic view of the city and the Aegean Sea.

As you are wandering among the streets you will see plenty of little shops with local products. Apart from the little souvenir shops, you will have the chance to walk along the famous neighborhood called “Matoyiannia” where you will see some of the world’s most famous brands.

You will have free time for lunch or swimming at the beach located next to the old port of the city, until 330PM. Then, the tour leader will meet you at a specified point so that you go altogether to the port. The ferry departs from Mykonos at 4PM and you will cross the Aegean Sea.

Passing from the port of Tinos island, enjoy the greek summer sunset onboard. You will arrive at the port of Rafina at 840 PM. The driver will pick you up from the port and will transfer you back to Athens.

Our experience was wonderful, our guide, Ioanna was extremely knowledgeable, hospitable and accommodating. I would only shorten the amount of time we were given to explore Mykonos on our own, and also I would have liked to have been informed ahead of time of the fee amount for entering the beach. Other than that, I wouldn't change anything, it was an amazing and beautiful experience.

There were some unpredictable events that impacted the tour like the speed boat breaking and the tour scheduled a plane instead and then once in the island we could only return by plane since the sea was too agitated. We had to pay extra for the return flight (half paid by us and half by tour company) but I think all of these were well communicated and managed. We loved the island, every little corner has its charm and beauty. Food was also pretty good! Our guide Iloana did an outstanding job of guiding us through the island, leading us to another beach by bus (which was awesome) and made sure everyone in the group was having a good time.

The tour is nice for a day experience and to say that you’ve been to Mykonos. Tour guide was phenomenal and was super sweet. The cons are that this is this is a party town and you visit it during the day, the only things you can really do is either walk around and visit shops, or go to a restaurant, there’s no local beach within that area that you can hop over really. It’s windy, and very small to explore. So we ended up paying $50 euros each to go to the excursion they planned to do within the excursion - which was to go to Super Paradise Beach. The beach was OK - not worth $50 each and we were disappointed with just how little we really could do in Mykonos - it’s just in a “fancy” overpriced resort with bad food. Overall it was nice for the experience and to explore something new but wouldn’t really go again.
