Pictures simply don't do the lavender fields justice. We thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to take lots of pictures, enjoy the scent of the blooming plants, and learn a bit about the local area. Our guide was very good at taking us to scenic vistas and taking photos for us.

I didn’t really have specific expectations going into this, but since it was the cheapest “see the lavender fields” I didn’t expect to experience what I got to. We were able to go to two villages in the mountains of Lourdes which were unique and beautiful. Then we also visited the Abbaye of Sénanque, the most well known picture area of lavender in Provence. To top it all off, we went to a special location to see fields of lavender! Keep in mind, we were not allowed to walk through the lavender, so if that’s what you’re wanting, this is not it. Also, its an hour car-ride from Avignon in a van so be prepared if you get car sick, the roads are very windy.
