Towering 1,717 meters above sea level, the volcanic mountain is the 2nd highest point on the island. Get the most out of the experience with mountain hikes, and spend the night under a canopy of stars at the summit. Day 1: Depart in the afternoon at approximately 12:30 PM, and journey to the village of Toya Bungkah on Mt. Batur. Hike for approximately 2 hours, depending on the number of hikers and their physical condition. Batur, and watch a majestic sunset at the top of the volcano. Enjoy a simple meal (typically banana cooked using the steam of the volcano) along with hot Balinese coffee and tea. Then, return to camp to cook dinner and make a campfire to sit around and try some of the local Arak Bali and Brem wines. Toast the end of the day and make a wish for clear skies to see the moon and the stars and enjoy a magnificent sunrise the following day. Day 2: Wake early to watch the sunrise from the mountain. Pack up all your camping gear before the early morning tourists arrive. A porter will be on hand to take care of the equipment while you watch the beautiful colors of purple, orange, pink and red appear in the sky. Marvel as the sky changes from black to blue while the clouds dissipate and re-form due to temperature changes caused by the rising sun. Get panoramic views of the ocean in the distance as the day begins. On a clear day, you can easily see Mt. Rinjani on the neighboring island of Lombok. Then, hike to the 3 main craters of the volcano and see some of the recent black lava flow. End at the natural hot springs of Batur, where you can relax and recharge your mind with the help of Mother Nature. Customize your experience with add-ons from coffee tasting to traditional massage. I booked the 3-day tour from Surabaya and we visited Mt. Bromo, Tumpak Sewu Falls and Kwah Ijen. First we visited Tumpak Sewu Falls. It was a great experience but be prepared that you will be completely wet at the end of the tour as you will climb and walk in the water and under the falls (have another set of clothes with you to change after the tour). Our driver Bagus then took us closer to Mt. Bromo where we stayed for the first night. During the three days Bagus told us a lot about Indonesia and its culture and I must say he was a great driver and guide. For Mt. Bromo sunrise we departed in the middle of the night from our hotel. The weather was misty and rainy at times but we still managed to see the sunrise. On the other hand, we did see blue fire in Kwah Ijen but since there was fog all around us we did not see the lake from the top of Ijen as it was a rainy season - if you can choose then take this tour in a dry season. Overall it was a great tour.

Would recommend to anyone traveling to Indonesia. Very much worth it. Booked for two people and the boat was perfect for us. The boat crew was always attentive and giving us delicious snacks, juices, and food. Sometimes too much food, which is not too bad problem of a problem to have. There was a place to sit in a shaded area and a place to recline under the warm sun. The water and hikes were pristine. After sweating in a hike, we were able to take a dip in the cool water. We were able to see Komodo dragons, bats, birds, deers, and many colorful fish. We were not lucky to see the mantas, but that’s ok, the snorkeling was still amazing. The hotel was nice and big with a nice view of the beach. Clean but beware of mosquitos, which was the case for the whole tour. Remember to bring your mosquito repellent. Overall great experience. Our guide went this us everywhere we went and was also very attentive and gave us great history and information.

The trip is quite demanding in terms of travel. Lots of long distance travel. Especially taxing considering we have 3 early rises. The hotel is Jakarta is definitely a bit small considering it is for 2 days. The rest of the hotel arrangements are fine. Prambanan should definitely be included in this tour. Tipping information should have been included for clarity and benefits to the travellers.

great tour, took away all the trouble of planning away from us Wich was much needed

Great value. Lots to see. Knowledgeable and friendly guides. Loved this one.
