Full description

Tour the region of Kanchanaburi in West Thailand and uncover local history on this guided day trip. During this memorable day trip from Bangkok, visit the Death Railway which was put on the map by the 1957 movie, 'Bridge Over the River Kwai.'

Begin at one of the country’s best-loved national parks, Erawan National Park. Connect with pristine nature at the Erawan Waterfall which has seven tiers, turquoise pools and a set of limestone caves at its base.

Continue to the JEATH Museum, dedicated to the Allied Prisoners of War who died building the Burmese railway. This museum is a sad yet important reminder of Thailand’s history. It’s thought that over 100,000 lives were lost during this period.

Finally, visit the historic Bridge over the River Kwai. Have the chance to walk over the bridge, admire the impressive scenery, and take a moment to remember the past, before returning to your accommodations/meeting point at approximately at night.

The JEATH museum was good and a nice stop before seeing the actual railway. This tour should really include lunch at the railway or when you arrive at the falls. The Erawan Falls were good and we made a good option to hike the falls first before getting life vests to have a dip after the exertion. The guide could have been more informative. Overall a good day out.

My tour guide was Tick Tack and my driver was Eddie. I can not be more grateful to both, without a doubt they make an excellent team. Tick Tack was in charge of keeping us all entertained for more than 3 hours on the road and making a stop to use the bathroom in which he helped me choose my breakfast, explaining every detail of the available meals. Tick Tack undoubtedly loves and enjoys his work. His English is excellent, in fact one of the best I've heard on all my tours. It allowed us to enjoy almost 3 hours of the Waterfalls without rushing us, he also gave us our space and the rest was taken care of by the Erawan Waterfalls, it is a magical place that will leave everyone who visit it breathless when they see the wonders of this splendid place. This has been the best tour in all my week in Bangkok. Thanks Tick Tack, Eddie and Trip Guru for providing such an excellent service to all of us.

It's worth the hike but it's not from wau. Unfortunately we were unable to catch the monkeys as we were told by the guide that we could already spot them from sector 2 while along the way we asked several people and they all said to go up to level 7. We had not been notified of the closure of the park , then consequently around 14:30 (time when we were left alone) we stationed at level 5 to take a bath, when around 15:00 we tried to reach levels 6 and 7 we were denied as the park was closing and we had to go back down. Definitely an experience to do but with some more information.
