Discover one of Gaudi’s most enduring creations on this tour of Parc Güell in Barcelona. Start at Carrer d' Olot, and enter the public park built over a century ago. See the fantastic mosaic tiles of the salamander statue (“El Drac”) at the park entrance as an example of Gaudi’s typical motifs. Walk through the park on the wooded hill, and see some of Gaudi’s typical styles. Along with mosaic tiles, find sinuous benches, twisted stonework, and the Sala Hipóstila (Doric Temple). It would be easy enough to walk through this park and enjoy the environment. But having toured the park with a guide, it’s much more interesting to learn about the intended use and design of was supposed to be a private community. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable about the family for whom it was built and Gaudis role. I recommend it.

An interesting tour. The guide was well informed and enthusiastic. The group was relatively small. My one criticism would be that the tour was also conducted in Spanish for just two tourists which meant long periods just waiting while the guide ran through his commentary in Spanish. Also we waited 15 minutes beyond the start of the tour for part of one family who hadn’t arrived when the tour was due to start.

Great tour. Park was much less crowded first thing in the morning. At the end of our tour we had an opportunity to walk around on our own. Then by the time we were ready to leave and walking out of the main gate, the whole front of the park was really packed. A huge difference from when we started our tour at park opening time. Our guide was very informative and even though I already knew a lot about Gaudi, I did learn a few new things. He made sure to point out the little things you might miss if you just go through the park yourself.
