Just two quibbles - (1) we had to walk a little way to actually get the ticket to gain access. This was not made clear when purchasing the ticket. I thought by purchasing the ticket on line before we left England we could just go to the Doge's/The Basillica and enjoy the Experience. We bought this ticket as we thought it was good value that it gave access to both Doge's Palace and the Basillica. (2) Although there is free entry to The Basillica it is not made clear that there is an additional charge to access two places are of interest (a) The Burial Site of St Mark = 2 Euros (b) access to the roof terrace = 5 Euros. The additional charges are not made clear.

The Basillica and Doges tour was spectacular but skip the boat ride...

We really enjoyed the tour of the Basillica and Doges Palace. The guide was very knowledgeable and fun to listen to. She was also very good at answering all our questions. The boat tour was another matter. I would not waste my time . The boat was small and unless you were willing to stand for the whole tour, the sight lines were miserable. The tour leader was very unpleasant and the entire time I was on the boat I wished it was over. So uncomfortable .

Hard to find the office to check in, but you do get to walk some of Venice off the beaten track. Doge's Palace was very interesting. Skipped the Basilica due to crowds (this was Saturday). Still worth it - it's Venice, after all.

Good experience. Well organized. Excellent tour guide.

Line skipping privileges saved time. There was longer lines that we walked past. Tour guide was very knowledgeable, interesting and accommodating to questions.
