Full description
Take a full-day tour from Belgrade and learn about Serbia in the 19th and 20th centuries while visiting Topola town and its Oplenac complex, dedicated to the royal family of Karadjordjevic. The complex consists of Karadjordje's house (konak), king Peter's house, St. George's church, and a royal wine cellar. The tour is led by a professional English-speaking tour guide. On the way to your main destination, visit Avala Mountain, which stands at 511 meters above sea level. Deciduous and pine forests with fresh mountain water make for an ideal picnic site. When you reach Avala's peak, you'll be welcomed by a symbol of Belgrade and its surroundings: Avala Tower. At 204.8 meters, this is the tallest building in the Balkans and serves amazing panoramic views of the city and its surroundings.  Karadjordje's house (konak) is a museum dedicated to the founder of this royal family. While walking through the konak you will learn about Karadjordje's role in The First Serbian Uprising against the Ottomans in the 19th century. King Peter's house is an exhibition space with numerous objects of artistic and material value, dedicated to the Karadjordjevic family.
