Visit the picturesque village of Kovacica, situated north of Belgrade. National minorities living in this village became world-famous with their naive art painting and traditional crafts. The Gallery of Naive Art was opened in 1955. After the gallery, visit the artists' ateliers. You will have the opportunity to buy some of the best naive art paintings and souvenirs. Over the years many international celebrities have visited Kovacica to meet the artists and admire their works, including Francois Mitterrand, Pele, actors Ursula Andres, Franco Nero, Alain Delon, King Juan Carlos, Mstislav Rostropovich, and the Rolling Stones. Jan Nemcek is a famous stringed instruments maker, best known for hand-crafting violins. Learn about the techniques of hand-crafting stringed instruments while visiting this workshop.
