Full description
The 1945 Battle of Berlin included some of the deadliest fighting in recorded military history. On this full day private black van Berlin tour, you’ll learn about the battle itself and how it led to the eventual fall of the Nazi regime. Follow along with an expert guide in military history as they explain the chaos of the battle, the strategies involved, and the surrender of the Third Reich. We will visit the Reichstag building, which was one of the central targets of the Red Army during the battle, and see the unmarked site of the former Führerbunker, where Hitler eventually died by suicide. Learn about the Nazi’s air defence system and the series of flak towers built in Berlin and beyond, to protect the regime from air attack. You’ll also stop at the Museum Berlin-Karlshorst, located on the site where the German armed forces surrendered, and WWII ended. Lastly, visit two Soviet war memorials, at Tiergarten and Treptower Park, both commemorating the Soviet soldiers who died during the Battle of Berlin. About Our Guides Our Berlin tour guides are more than just guides — they are true characters of the city, with deep knowledge of Berlin’s history and politics. Best guided tour ever!

My biggest concern when I booked the tour was that our guide wold not be able to meet our very high expectations of what a battlefield tour should be, such as to give a political, strategic and operational perspective neccesary to understand what actually took place at the end battle for Berlin. What a vaste of time my worries were! Bernard did not only exceed our expectations, but added perspectives and knowledge we didn´t even know existed. The tour concept was perfect for us, and as a historian Bernard managed to present the Russian, German and even English perspectives which truly made the understanding of the events at and around Seelow deeper and more complex. Being a German himself Bernhard also gave a bigger insight of how the Germans historically and contemporary percieves(ed) this traumatic experience. The tour was professionally organised and conduducted, and Bernard (and his driver) brought a truly personal touch and made the tour a all time high for us. Highly recommended!
