Full description
Join an informative walking tour to explore the tumultuous history of Berlin during Hitler’s regime. Hear about the rise and fall of the Nazi party, visit memorials for the victims of the Third Reich, and see where Hitler and his henchmen made the decisions that would shake the world. Stand in front of Brandenburg Gate and listen to expert commentary about the last days of the Second World War and how the gate came to be a symbol of division after the war and later reunification in Germany after 1989. Learn about the curious Reichstag Fire of 1933 as you pass the German House of Parliament. Here you’ll delve deep into the key events that took place after the appointment of Hitler as Chancellor of Germany in 1933. Continue over to see artillery-pieces and tanks adorning the Soviet War Memorial in Tiergarten commemorating the Battle of Berlin, which helped liberate the country from Nazism yet claimed over 80,000 Soviet soldiers' lives. From here, move onto the impactful Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe, a poignant dedication to the Jewish victims of the Holocaust. Progress onto Hermann Göring's enormous Ministry of Aviation building, which remains as one of the few last standing examples of Third Reich architecture. Next, head to an outdoor and indoor museum complex referred to as the Topography of Terror where the SS and the Gestapo institutions were located. End this tour by seeing the site of the Reich Chancellery and Hitler’s infamous Bunker.

Jules was excellent not only did she share her amazing knowledge but also happy to advise us on food and travel tips. The tour itself covered lots of walking and we saw places of interest that we would never of experienced without her. My only issue was that the tour advertised that we visited the SS and Luftwaffe former headquarters and Hitlers bunker, we did not visit any of these, This was the reason why I booked this tour.

We thought this was the highlight of our trip to Berlin. Mark Was very informative and exceptionally engaging. Was not at at boring and 4 hrs passed in no time. Nice touch having the refreshment stop in the middle. Well thought out and gave a real sense of the turbulent times under the Nazis.

      Great tour with India

The tour was amazing, a great way to learn and understand Berlin. At first we thought that a 3 hours tour would be too long, but it was far from boring. India had a lot of important information to share, but she did it in a very easy-going and didactic way.
