East Side Tour: 2.5-Hour Boat Cruise in Berlin
- Duration: 2.5 hours
- Optional audio guide
Berlin's ancient heart lies in its river, so any Spree tour is bound to cover the city's historic glory. Of course, you can see the sights by land if you want, but only a Berlin cruise offers these views!
The exhibitions at the Museum Island's five state museums rank among the world's best, but you can get great views of the Prussian architecture from a boat tour.
The 19th-century double-decker bridge, accommodating pedestrians and drivers, was built to resemble a historic city gate and unites the districts of Kreuzberg and Friedrichshain. The view from the water is unmatchable!
As well as the Reichstag, the Government District is also home to the best of Berlin's modern architecture. Highlights like the House of World Cultures look even better by night!
See one of Berlin's more peculiar public artworks up close. Jonathan Borofsky's iron giants symbolize the intersection of the Treptow, Kreuzberg, and Friedrichshain districts. You can even glide right under the figures on a paddle board tour!
The German President's official residence was built to be seen from the land, but only from the water can you catch the Prussian Siegessäule (Victory Column) in the background and take some tip-top snaps.
Berlin river boat trips come in a variety of forms, whether you want to see the city by night or day, or even choose a theme such as a movie tour. You can have lunch or dinner and drinks onboard too, and even extend your tour to take in the city's canals. Why not follow up your river tour with a cruise on one of Berlin's lakes?
Tickets aboard the Berlin boats start at around €10, but bear in mind that more expensive tours are likely to be relatively excellent value for a European capital.

Great visit of Berlin's sites along the Spree with this tour. The tour has an ideal duration as it allows to discover many of the eastern sites. Commentary was both in German and English. The staff on the boat was great and drinks and snacks prices were reasonable.
Everything (service; comfort; sights seen) was excellent except for onboard commentaries via public announcements which were difficult to understand.
Getyourguide-app in the phone didn’t work, because the company hadn”t a scanner. So, better to print the ticket!
Saw neighborhoods and parts of Berlin not usually seen on Berlin tours. Very enjoyable!
