Full description
With more than 450 exhibits from private collections worldwide, for the first time as a permanent museum and cultural fixture, 'Dalí – The Exhibition' at Potsdamer Platz provides a comprehensive insight into Salvador Dalí's fascinating work, right in the heart of Berlin. In addition to the pleasure of art, this exclusively privately funded museum also offers its visitors insight and understanding of the everyday. "Come into my brain," as Dalí himself put it. Dalí ranks as one of the greatest modern artists, staging his works as well as himself in the most spectacular fashion. Visitors gain a comprehensive look into Salvador Dali's virtuosity and innovation in virtually every artistic medium. Works include ones in which Dali set off bombs filled with nails, where he founded Bulletism by shooting at stones, or the monumental work he made on behalf of the Italian government in honor of Dante. This extensive and representative overview of his graphic work is complemented with workbooks, illustrated books, sculptures, coins and three-dimensional installations. You can also purchase a printed guide or the exhibition's elegant catalogue. The printed guide contains the most important information regarding the exhibits. Biographical background is accompanied by facts on the works and techniques themselves. The perfect way to familiarize yourself with Dalí's art.

a great exhibition for those familiar with Dali's art

It was a great exhibition to learn more about Dali if you already have a background knowledge about the artist. It was interesting to see the videos Dali worked on, especially the episode of his cooperation with Hitchcock. I also liked the examples of TV and magazine ads that Dali participated in.

Disappointed mobile voucher didn't work but still a great exhibition

I went to the Dali Exhibition in Berlin this weekend and took my GYG mobile voucher. However, when I got there they did not accept it. Instead they had me send them the voucher that I received via email so they could print it for me. They told me they do not accept mobile vouchers and therefore the information that I received in my GYG confirmation email was wrong. They were very nice/helpful and the exhibition was great - but this should be fixed on the website and follow up instructions.

Good exhibition, some interesting items on display.

The exhibition is good and ordering online went all fine. I simply showed the voucher on my mobile at the desk and everything was ok. The exhibition mainly displays the later work of Dali. Mostly sketches and drawings. I expected to see some paintings and more of his earlier, more personal work. That was a bit disappointing, but I still learned a lot and spent a good couple of hours there.
