Berlin Wall: Fates, Heroes, and Love Stories Walking Tour

3. Berlin Wall: Fates, Heroes, and Love Stories Walking Tour

On this tour with a certified guide, walk through the history of the Berlin Wall and Berlin Wall Memorial. On August 13, 1961, the GDR sealed off all crossings along the sector borders in Berlin and erected a wall. For more than 28 years, not only Berlin but an entire nation was divided. For the many people who had to pay the price for their freedom with their lives, get the opportunity to observe in remembrance during your visit to the Berlin Wall and its memorial. The construction of the wall was particularly tragic for the residents in the houses along Bernauer Strasse. They were forcibly relocated because their homes had to give way to the building of the wall. Learn about some of the dramatic scenes that took place here, such as people jumping to their deaths out of fear and despair or being kidnapped by the Stasi back to the BDR after their escape. Dare to look into the wall strip today and listen as your guide explains the construction of the death strip and how the border was secured today. Also hear stories from people who managed to escape to freedom. Be amazed by the stories of people who have managed to escape into freedom with creative ideas. Feel uplifted while enjoying love stories with happy endings. After 28 years of separation and division, the Berlin Wall fell during the peaceful revolution on November 9, 1989.

Cool concept - very easy to use. We were confused as we thought the Vouchers should be picked up at a specific location. But it's enough to have them on the phone. The whole family loved it !!

The tour was really great, highly recommended!!! Our tour guide told the story so vividly and vividly and also added a few extras, it then took a total of 3 hours (instead of 2.5). Very fine!

The tour with Katrin was very good and informative. We learned interesting things that weren't written on the signs. And all of this was told with great enthusiasm. Thanks for that!

Very exciting and informative tour of the Berlin Wall, which our sons (7 and 10) also enjoyed. (The kids should have some initial background knowledge about the Berlin Wall....)

Easy just to have printed voucher around during transport and to get a discount
