Full description
Start your action-packed day of discovery on the Big Island by visiting some of its most popular and spectacular landmarks. During your guided tour of the Island you will visit landmarks such as the Kona coffee farm, including a private tasting and tour, a Black Sand beach for turtle viewing, the Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, Big Island Candies, Akaka Falls, and the Waipio Valley Overlook. Next, travel to the crown jewel of Hawaii, Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. Visit the Kilauea Visitor’s Center, the Kilauea Iki Crater Overlook, and Steaming Bluffs. Take a walk through the famous Volcano House to view the smoking and steaming Kilauea Caldera. Dropping down into the lush eastern side of Kilauea Volcano your next stop is Big Island Candies. Founded in 1977, Big Island Candies are famous for their quality. Big Island Candies welcomes everyone with samples of their amazing confections, still handmade using only the highest quality ingredients. Peek through the windows into the factory or browse the selection of gorgeous jewel-box gifts. Waipio Valley is still home to taro farmers as it has been for a thousand years. Look closely from the overlook where glimpses of the wild horses that roam the valley floor might be possible. Afterwards, you will return to your hotel.

I wished we were provided with a authentic Hawaiian lunch. Instead we only got sandwich from Safeway. I have been on other tours and we were given fresh made Hawaiian bbq lunch and fresh Hawaiian fruits. Tour was a little pricey and tour guide was smelly and probably didn't use deodorant. We were stuck in the van smelling him all the way back. I wanted to throw up. Didn't experience enough of the big island on this tour.

From the very start we knew it was going to be a fun trip. Hank was so cool to hang with all day with his facts, stories, jokes, and patience! This was a great way to see the whole island and not have to worry about driving, navigation, or history research. We got our bearings on the lay of the land so we knew where everything was if we wanted to explore more. We didn't feel rushed and were able to enjoy the experience at each destination. We learned so much while having fun. All of our questions were answered and we also got great tips on where else to visit and eat. Even with a van full of us tourists, it felt like a very personalized day. It was a long one but totally worth it! Mahalo, Hank, from Irene and Angela from San Diego!
