Optionally you can board one of these wooden beauties to reach the island, with its romantic church and mysterious wishing bell. Sightseeing in Bled continues with a visit to the impressive castle, perched on a cliff high above the lake. Guides will roll back time in its museum, and enjoy the unforgettable view of the surroundings. Surrounded by alluring summits, the Bohinj Valley charms visitors with its inspiring scenery, crystal lake waters and the harmonious coexistence of man and nature. The picturesque lakeside boasts the frescoes of Church of St. John the Baptist. You will have time to discover the legend of Zlatorog (Goldhorn), enjoy a stunning view over Mount Triglav and try the hearty local cuisine. To experience a bit of trekking, you'll end the day with an enjoyable 20-minute hike to the beautiful Savica Waterfall, thundering from a high rocky cliff, and enjoy a rewarding view of the Lake.

A rafting trip is a wonderful idea if you are looking to add a day of adventure to your Bled holiday. If you haven’t done it before, don’t worry. No previous experience is required, your guides will make sure you are completely safe throughout the trip, and you are guaranteed to have a great time. The rivers in Slovenia are divided according to the difficulty level they present. Each one has something different to offer. You can choose between an easy, slow flowing scenic rafting trip suitable for the whole family, larger groups or individuals, or faster, more exciting sections for those seeking a more energetic thrilling ride. The choice depends on the time of year, weather conditions and water levels, and preferences of the guests. Even the adrenaline junkies can find something to satisfy their demanding taste. The emerald Soča river for example is well known for its amazing rafting options. White water rafting is a very safe sport, however this does not mean that the safety precautions are not being strictly followed. Every boat is steered by an expert guide with years of guiding experience and detailed knowledge of the rivers. Every guest is provided with all necessary equipment needed for the trip: wetsuit, shoes, life jacket, helmet and of course a paddle.

7. From Ljubljana: Trip to Lake Bled and Bled Castle

Lake Bled is often mentioned as the pearl of the Slovenian Alpine region due to its emerald-green waters, picture-perfect postcard church on the island, medieval castle on the rocky cliff, and some of the highest peaks of the Slovenian Alps as the background. Take a short walk along the lakeshore as the beauty of the surrounding mountains reflects off the lake surface. No matter the season, you'll enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of the lake and the fresh mountain air.  Perched atop a steep cliff more than 100 meters above the lake, Bled Castle is the iconic image of a medieval fortress, with towers, ramparts, moats and a terrace offering magnificent views. The castle houses a unique treasure - a reconstruction of Gutenberg's wooden printing press, on which the master printer will demonstrate old printing techniques using hand-made paper. Take the Pletna boat, a traditional boat known only to this region, to the tiny tear-shaped island on the lake. Upon returning from the island, stop at the local patisserie and taste Bled’s famous cream cake, kremšnita. In the last 60 years they have sold as many as 12 million of these cakes - they are definitely a can't-miss and a perfect way to top off your day.
