Full description
Explore Budapest through its alternative cultures on a 3-hour small group walking tour of the sights and historical landmarks that other tours rarely show you. Go deeper into Budapest’s underground music, fashion and art scenes, and explore the present and future, rather than the past. Head away from the main tourist hangouts to explore Budapest's Jewish district, where the city’s alternative culture is kicking off. Just like East Berlin after the wall, Budapest's uncared for districts are becoming the places to be. Learn about, and visit, squats, cultural centers, abandoned synagogues and art galleries. Stop for a coffee or beer at an art and coffee collective, or a ruin bar-cum community center, bike workshop and analogue photography gallery!

Cristian (sorry, I’m sure I’m spelling. It wrong ) was a wonderful guide. He took us through the history of the Jewish community of Budapest with some stops in the “street art” scene, local culture and politics, and how ruin bars played a major part in the revival of the entertainment district! If you’re ever in Budapest, even for just a few hours, this is definitely the activity you should be doing.

My boyfriend and me had a private tour with Krisztián. He showed us the alternative and jewish parts of Budapest and we enjoyed the tour very much. Due to his broad knowledge we could ask a lot of questions and so there was a lot of flexibility in the structure of our tour. I really recommend this tour and the local tourguide Krisztián!

Anna our guide was enthusiastic and shared a lot of interesting details. She even guided us in places that was out of the tour. It was a really enlightening tour allowing to have a deeper insight on local's daily life. Wish we had done the tour on the first day! Despite the rain we enjoy it to the utmost!
