It was hard work but worthwhile! Beautiful experience. My instructor was definitely there to make sure we didn’t get into any bother, I felt really safe even when falling in a couple times. But I had more support in actually mastering the technique from a fellow participant. It was such a peaceful experience. Small group of 4 was perfect. The only drawback is that you felt a bit abandoned at the end of the tour. It’s evening, you are wet (if you fell in) and as a tourist you don’t know where to go dry off and change. Maybe a little deal with a local business near the end point would make it a perfect experience! Guide took photos and it was nice that he shared it!

We had booked the session for a Friday as we were flying into the country on the Thursday. On the Thursday I got a message to say the Friday was no longer available due to staff sickness and was offered other days. We could only choose the Thursday as we had other things booked the other days so it was a bit of a rush to get sorted but we did it. We took a 30min taxi from the city to the meeting point and had an intro to the board from the guide. He was lovely and helpful. We paddled for about 90mins back up to the city near the Gellert Heggy. I really enjoyed it however my partner did struggle a bit with the flexibility of the activity, it was his first time and my second. I would do it again and recommend it to others as long as you have a bit of flexibility to be able to move around on the board while moving on water.

Our guide was helpful and professional. We were a group of 10. Varied ages and ability. Stunning route, right past Parliament building, ending right in the center of city. We got a few waves as bigger boats passed us. A memorable experience. I'd love to do it again.
