Budapest: Underground Caving Adventure Tour

1. Budapest: Underground Caving Adventure Tour

Experience the natural splendors of the Danube-Ipoly National Park, and climb and crawl your way through Hungary’s longest cave system on a half-day caving expedition. Famous for its hot springs, Budapest is visited by many people who want to experience the thermal baths. But only a few know that the hot water rushing up from deep underground created something even more extraordinary. In the limestone mountains under Budapest, the heated water formed a huge cave system that is thought to be more than 200 kilometers long. The longest cave of Budapest is the 32 kilometers long Pál-völgyi-Mátyás-hegyi cave system in the Duna-Ipoly National Park. It’s a multi-level labyrinth system where most of the chambers lie under the residential districts of Budapest. The scheduled cave tours are guided by qualified caving guides. During the adventure, you will climb on walls and crawl through narrow passages. Marvel at the natural parts of the cave under the supervision of a professional caving guide (all guides are qualified members of the Hungarian Caving Association). Enjoy the perfect activity for groups, families, or solo travelers looking to make some new friends. Bond through an interactive adventure, where cooperation can definitely make your way easier.

After a few hundred yards more, climb to Predikaloszek, the summit with some of the best views in Hungary. This place is very famous among locals and visited the whole year through by nature-lovers. Stop for a snack at the lookout and take in the amazing scenery. After refueling, a nice and long downhill trek is waiting for you through a wild and untouched valley. During the descent, observe the power of water; see how it created ravines in the soil of the forest. Before starting your climb in the canyon, refill your bottles with clear spring water from water reservoirs. The Ram Canyon is a great adventure for all ages, boasting a nice cool climate, great depth, and waterfalls to climb with the help of ladders and rails. Head back toward the starting point filled with positive energy and unforgettable experiences. What people are saying about Budapest

We had a great time on the Danube Bend hike. This is a really interesting walk through varying terrain where you can see beautiful views, walk through a peaceful forest, through a gorge and even up some waterfalls! Gyuri is the most excellent guide; he is punctual, knowledgeable and safe and he knows lots of interesting things about the nature and geology of the area and he is just a really nice guy to chat to as we walked. He even took photos for us on the way round and shared them with us afterwards, which is such a lovely memento. I would recommend that you are moderately fit and ok to walk on uneven and very steep ground as it was challenging in places, but that is what made it even more enjoyable and we had a great sense of achievement afterwards. It was the best day of our whole vacation, I cannot recommend this trip highly enough.

This tour is definitely worth doing as you can see the beautiful landscape of Hungarian countryside. The horse show might be a little bit “touristic” but if you have children they will love it. The restaurant there is traditional and the food marvelous! Our tour guide was very helpful and did his best to have a nice excursion.

Had the most wonderful experience on these scooters. Benjamin showed us how to ride and lots of safety tips. Would recommend this activity if you want to get out and about in Budapest . Really fun day out .

This was so much fun and a great way to get around the city. The bikes were easy to ride and keep up with traffic when necessary. Would highly recommend.

Super mooie wandelroute, met veel uitdagende klimmetjes en mooie uitzichten. Gyuri is een erg vriendelijke kerel!
