The cruise was the highlight of the Hop on Hop off experience. The bus tour hit the major points of interest and allowed us to more easily get to those points. The walking tour got us closer to specific locations like the House of Parliament and the Holocaust memorial. The steady and cold rain during the walking tour really did put a damper on appreciation of the sights. Still, well worth the cost and should be considered by anyone who has never been to Budapest. One negative experience, it rained and while the upper level of the bus was open, the protective cover did not stop the rain from pouring onto the passengers.
We booked this to orientate ourselves at the beginning of our mini break, and to give us some background on Budapest. The tour was great and a very small ‘small group bike tour’ as we were the only two on it, which was great. The pace of the tour and the balance of cycling and stopping to chat about the area etc was perfect and we learnt a lot about Hungary and Budapest from our guide.
Our local guide gave us a good flavor of local history, politics and location, which gave us a brilliant introduction to the city
The explanation was so nice and clear. And the route was fantastic. Learned a lot about Budapest. Peter was a great tour guide.
