Planted over 200 years ago as a stunning entrance to James Stuart’s new house it still lives on and still impress visitors today. Reaching Belfast we have one last stop and definitely another highlight of the day. The world renowned Belfast Titanic Exhibition extends over nine galleries, with multiple dimensions to the exhibition. From special effects, rides, full-scale reconstructions and interactive features you will explore the Titanic story in a fresh and insightful way from her conception in Belfast in the early 1900s, through her construction and launch, to her infamous maiden voyage and catastrophic demise. The journey goes beyond the aftermath of the sinking, to the discovery of the wreck and continues into the present day in the Ocean Exploration Centre. With the entrance ticket included in the price of the tour this is truly a once in a lifetime opportunity to see this attraction. When time allows we will stop in Belfast city to have a quick break before heading back to Dublin, where you will be home in good time to have a great night out to finish a great day out!

Typically the tour would visit the Carrick A Rede Rope Bridge. However, it is currently closed for tour operators and it is not yet clear as to when it will reopen. As an alternative attraction, visit the very popular Dun Luce Castle. Enjoy this historic castle that dates back over 500 years and which is dramatically positioned on the edge of a cliff over the Atlantic. Discover this castle which has been used to film things like Game of Thrones. Visit and peruse the castle and grounds for 45 minutes. Arrive at the UNESCO World Heritage Giant’s Causeway, formed over 60 million years ago by volcanic eruptions. Admire its distinctive rock formations that span nearly 18 miles of coastline. Hike to the formations known as “The Wishing Chair”, “Giant's Boot”, and “Giant's Organ.” Learn the legend of the Irish giant Finn McCool, said to be the Causeway's creator. This is where you have the option to have lunch in a number of venues located at the Causeway. With 2 hours there is ample time to lunch and walk this fabulous coastal landscape. Continue along the Antrim Coastal, driving past spectacular scenery of stony shores, wooded glens and sheltered harbors. See the remains of Dunseverick Castle, and admire views of the Mull of Kintyre. On a clear day, see Scotland in the distance. The route back to Dublin is different than the route taken to the Causeway earlier in the day, giving you different scenery to enjoy. The Irish giant Finn McCool, while preparing for battle with his Scottish rival, is said to have angrily fired rocks into the sea to forge a path to nearby Scotland. However, on seeing the size of his would-be adversary, he quickly retreats tearing the ground and ripping the stones as he hastily moves. Similar types of stone found in Scotland give weight to this tale of two feuding giants the Causeway continues to stir the imagination and inspire folklore.  Stop at the Dark Hedges for 30 minutes, a centuries-old lane of beech trees that have been featured in films and on television. In the TV series Game of Thrones, the Dark Hedges was featured in season 2 as the King's Road.

Visit over nine interactive galleries with state of the art exhibitions making use of special effects, rides, and full-scale reconstructions.  Continue your tour to the second stop Carrickfergus Castle. Built by the Anglo-Norman John de Courcy over 800 years ago, Carrickfergus Castle has long been the centre of a power struggle for those wanting to control the important port. The castle now houses historical displays as well as cannons from the 17th to the 19th centuries. There are ramparts, dungeons, and winding staircases with trip steps to deter any invaders. Afterward, visit the Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge for a fantastic view and photograph opportunities. This famous bridge, near Ballintoy in County Antrim, links the mainland to the tiny island of Carrick-a-rede. It spans 20 metres and is 30 metres above the rocks below.  The next attraction is the Giant's Causeway. Legend has it that Irish giant Finn McCool created the causeway to travel to Scotland and fight his rival Benandonner but that he came back smartish when he saw how big Benandonner was. The causeway consists of 40,000 interlocking hexagonal basalt columns along 6 kilometers (4 miles) of the northern coast of Northern Ireland. It was created by volcanic activity during the Tertiary between 50 and 60 million years ago. In 1986, the Giant’s Causeway was declared a UNESCO World Heritage site and remains one of the most famous attractions in Nothern Ireland.  The last stop will be a photography stop at the iconic ruin of Dunluce Castle, which bears witness to a long and tumultuous history. First built on the dramatic coastal cliffs of north County Antrim by the MacQuillan family around 1500, the earliest written record of the castle was in 1513. The castle has been used as the setting for the villains lair in the film The Medallion with Jackie Chan in 2001. The castle appeared in the artwork of the inner gatefold of the 1973 Led Zeppelin album Houses of the Holy. On your return, if time allows you will drive through Belfast on the way to your ship.
