From Dublin: Giant's Causeway Tour and Whiskey Tasting

1. From Dublin: Giant's Causeway Tour and Whiskey Tasting

Meet your friendly guide and board the bus from the Dublin City Gallery in the early morning, then set out on a full-day adventure to Northern Ireland. Leave the busy city behind and head into the luscious, rolling countryside landscapes on your way to the first destination of the day, Bushmills Whiskey Distillery. Arrive at Bushmills, which is the world’s oldest licensed Whiskey Distillery, and meet their resident whiskey expert. Enjoy a tasting session of some of the distillery’s most beloved whiskeys, including a 10-year-old, 12-year-old, and reserve whiskey. Head to the idyllic Dark Hedges next, which is the most photographed natural phenomenon in Northern Ireland. Spend 20-minutes at the site taking photos, and learn about how the hedges were planted more than 270-years-ago by the Stuart Family as a driveway to their mansion. Continue the tour through the sprawling rural surroundings, stopping at the ruins of Dunluce Castle for a photo op. The next destination of the day is the iconic Giant’s Causeway, which is Northern Ireland’s most popular visitor attraction and a UNESCO World Heritage Listed Site. Enjoy 2-hours at the site, taking photos of the magnificent seascape and fascinating stone columns, some of which reach 40 feet into the air. Finally, spend at least an hour of free time in Belfast to explore at your own leisure and visit some of the city center attractions. Make the most of the opportunity to pick up a souvenir of your trip, or grab some snacks for the return journey to Dublin. At the end of an unforgettable day, sit back, relax, and enjoy a well-deserved on the way back to Dublin.

Belfast: Giant's Causeway and Bushmills Whiskey Tour

2. Belfast: Giant's Causeway and Bushmills Whiskey Tour

Take an exclusive tour to the Giants Causeway in Northern Ireland, accompanied by a whiskey tasting at the world's oldest licensed whiskey distillery, Bushmills Distillery. During your whiskey tasting your resident whiskey expert will tell you all about the fantastic 10 year old, 12 year old, and distillery reserve whiskey that you will sample. Following that, you will move on to the Dark Hedges, off Bregagh Road. The Dark Hedges were planted 270 years ago by the Stuart family as a driveway to their mansion, Gracehill Manor. You will get to spend approximately 20 minutes there. There are over 200 beech trees along the driveway, which create the perfect backdrop for incredible photos. You will then get to admire the views of Dunluce Castle for a quick 5 minute stop. The castle is the oldest in Ireland, with its ruins still intact. Following that, spend 2 hours at the Giant's Causeway. This must-see World Heritage Site is Northern Ireland's most popular visitor attraction, and for good reason. It is also known as the 8th World Wonder, and whilst there you can embrace the 60,000 hexagonal columns made of basalt as you learn about the story behind them. Some people say that the Giant's Causeway was created by Finn McCool himself when he was creating a walkway from Northern Ireland and Scotland.

Design your ideal day trip when you travel to the spectacular Giants Causeway with a private driver. Traveling from Belfast along the scenic coastal route, the first big attraction is Carrickfergus Castle. The Norman castle from the 17th century is the best-preserved medieval structure in Ireland. Continuing along the beautiful scenic coastal road through seaside towns, there are plenty of places to stop for photos along the way. Drive past small seaside villages including Whitehead and Ballygalley before stopping at Glenarm Castle for a photo at the barbican. Grab refreshments at Carnlough Harbour before continuing your journey to see Carrick-A-Reed rope bridge. Lunch is at the Causeway Hotel, with Bushmills Distillery located nearby. Can you resist a visit to the distillery for a wee taste of their famous whiskey? No trip up north would be complete without a visit to the Dark Hedges tree tunnel, made famous by the "Game of Thrones" tv series. Even those who are not fans of the show will appreciate the beauty of this unique road with its overhanging trees. The big highlight of your trip is the UNESCO-listed Giants Causeway. Legend says the unique rock formation is the remains of a bridge used by giants which connected Ireland and Scotland. In this day and age, this company is a rarity. I have never received this excellent of service ever before. They exceeded out expectations in every way. They gave us personal service and made visiting Ireland easy and wonderful. It is really refreshing to see people who care about their jobs in the service industry. The transport was clean and punctual! If I knew today was my last day on earth, I would grab the phone and ring Marcos ( best bus driver ever) and Bambi ( hostess with the mostest) and would say “ guys bring the bus around, we’re going on an adventure, and I need you to show me the way”. Seriously easiest way to see all the things you want to see, and didn’t even know you wanted to.

Sadly the trip I originally booked got canceled due to low attendance. The company gave me the option to cancel or book a different tour (which was the same tour except the whiskey tasting). The people were very helpful and apologetic about it. I choose the other tour and I do not regret it. It was amazing!!! Daniel (Guide) and Brian (Bus Driver) were great fun and made the trip seem like it was flying by. Daniel played music from Irish artists throughout the trip and talked about Irish history. It was a fun and informative trip.

Fantastic day out. Got lucky with the weather so enjoyed the causeway. But the whiskey tasting was the highlight for me. Best tour we took on our trip to Ireland. Fantastic guide and driver. Very well planned tour

Was amazing more importantly our guide Shawn is amazing, funny and supportive.
