Full description
Enjoy a full-day trip to historic city of Alexandria and experience the remnants of a bygone era. After pickup from your hotel in Cairo or Giza you'll drive towards Alexandria, stopping along the way to use the bathroom and get a coffee. Upon arrival, start your tour of this ancient city. Head towards the marble-stone Roman amphitheater of Kom El-Deka that once accommodated over 800 visitors. Enjoy the sights of its pleasure garden and mosaic floored Roman baths and villas. Afterward, move on to the Catacombs of Kom El Shoqafa where you can feel the aura of ancient Egyptian, Greek and Roman architectural excellence. The cemetery was constructed in the second century AD and is still one of the seven wonders of the middle ages. Savor a delicious lunch from a local restaurant and then visit the Library of Alexandria, one of the largest and renowned archives of the ancient world. Stroll along the Citadel of Qaitbay, built above the ruined Alexandria lighthouse. At the end of the tour you'll be driven back to Cairo or Giza to be dropped off at your accommodation.

We went on a wonderful day with Heba. Her level of English was fantastic and she had clearly studied and memorised very well all the relevant facts / anecdotes about the sites! We felt very at ease walking around and were able to answer questions freely. Heba had a lovely spirit to her and the day flew by. We managed to pack a lot in, and despite the Library being unavailable due to the Covid-19 situation, Heba improvised really well and took us to some other equally amazing locations.

I visited Alexandria with my brother on 12/28/20. Alexander the Great, Cleopatra, the library, the lighthouse ... Very little remains of the ancient splendor. But the skill of our guide Hazem Mohamed Abo Elsoud, a kind and helpful person like few others, made this day unforgettable. With his stories he managed to make us "see" the city that no longer exists. Tour organized perfectly. Yes recommend to anyone who wants to discover different Egypt. If I were to return to Egypt I would certainly rely on this guide.
