Full description
Take a guided full-day trip to Cairo to see the most important attractions on any trip to Egypt: the Egyptian Museum, the Pyramids of Giza, and the Great Sphinx. Start with a very early morning pickup from your hotel in Sharm El Sheikh at 12:30 AM. Your Egyptologist tour guide will greet you at the lobby of your hotel and assist you to the bus station, where you’ll take the approximately 6-hour journey to Cairo on a comfortable air-conditioned bus.   When you arrive in Cairo, your tour guide will meet up with you again at the bus station and take you to the Museum of Egyptian Antiquities (Egyptian Museum). Spend the morning exploring this massive museum, which houses approximately 120,000 items. See the glittering treasures of Tutankhamun, grave goods, mummies, jewellery, household items, and toys of Egyptians whose names are lost to history.   After lunch in a local restaurant, you’ll head to the Pyramids of Giza — see the Great Pyramid, the Pyramid of Khafre, the Pyramid of Menkaure, and the Sphinx, situated beside each other in an awe-inspiring sight. This complex is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, one of the Seven Wonders of the World, and the only remaining Wonder of the Ancient World.   After exploring these magnificent structures, your tour guide will bring you back to the bus station for your ride back to Sharm El Sheikh.

The bus trip was about 9 hours long from our hotel and Sharm el Sheikh to Kairo, that's including one bigger stop of 40 minutes. We drove all night. The bus was good, with its own toilet. Though I recommend to bring own toilet paper and antibac. There are a numerous police check point during the trip, mostly just small stops. We went to the museum, got minmal with time there but enough to se the important parts with a skilled egyptologist and guide. In the trip we went on a boattrip on Nile, bbq lunch in a large restaurant. We went to papyrusshop. The pyramids was a good experience but be aware for a lot of people wanting to sell something. We also went with carriage to the viewpoint of the pyramids, very good. Lastly we went to the purfumeshop. Then 9 hours busttrip home. We didn't get the waterbotle that was said to be included. We were very happy and exhausted after the trip.

Our trip was great! Very well organised and felt safe and comfortable all day. We had a great time exploring lots of different Egyptian historic areas. The only things that we thought could be improved is knowing more details about the trip before we go, such as how long the full day is (26hr including travelling times), what kind of food is provided etc. and perhaps improved cleaning of the coach toilet space as unfortunately, not all travellers kept it very clean and as a pregnant lady, this made going to the toilet quite unpleasant

Overall a worthwhile trip (it’s significantly cheaper than flying and absolutely worth visiting both the pyramids and the Egyptian museum) A massive plus not really mentioned is the guide provided, ours was an archeologist/Egyptologist and she was fantastic. A couple of thing worth noting: The journey is 10 hours each way not 5-7. Also, as many people mentioned, there really isn’t much opportunity to get yourself food in what is a 28 hour trip (except the lunch provided) so definitely bring provisions.
