1. From Tromsø: Dogsledding Evening at Camp Tamok
Experience a unique mode of transport in northern Norway on an evening dog sledding adventure through a snowy terrain, surrounded by arctic mountain landscape and scenic fjords. If you are lucky, you will have the magical Northern Lights sky dancing above. You do not need any previous skills to mush your own husky team. Start with pickup from central Tromsø, and travel for 90 minutes to the wilderness center in Camp Tamok. Upon arrival at the camp, receive warm winter clothing and learn about the safety instructions and a practical demonstration from the guides. Two people will share each sled and a dog team. One is the “musher” (driver) and the other can sit back and enjoy the ride. If your group includes children, each child must be accompanied by an adult. You can switch places midway during the 12-kilometer dog sledding trail. After this outdoor adventure, you will be served a hot meal in a traditional northern Norwegian setting around the open fire in a reindeer herder’s tent. After relaxing and warming up, you can board the bus back to the city and reflect on a memorable adventure.
