A fantastic experience! We were looked after superbly by Guiseppe, who was knowledgeable, friendly and made everyone feel welcome. The group was small enough to get to know our companions (who were lovely,a great international group). The places chosen reflected typical Lazio regional and wider Italian food well. However, the best part was the combination of fascinating historical information about the old city and Trastevere, our favourite part of Rome. A really enjoyable time and a great way to spend an evening getting to know Rome a little better! Grazie mille, Guiseppe!

  • Rome Pasta-Making Class: Cook & Dine with a Local Chef

    7. Rome Pasta-Making Class: Cook & Dine with a Local Chef

There’s nothing quite like a home-cooked Italian meal, especially when it has been prepared with the help of a professional chef and when you get to enjoy it on a beautiful private space in Rome. This is an experience that’s typically reserved for the real Romans, but now you can experience it too on this 3-hour activity. You’ll meet the chef in the charming Trastevere neighborhood, and you’ll be greeted with Prosecco and snacks, the perfect aperitivo to get the class started. The itinerary for the lunchtime class is slightly different. You will meet your chef at the meeting point and visit a traditional local market to shop for the ingredients for your meal. Soon it will be time to learn how to make pasta from scratch. If you want to make authentic Italian food at home, this is the number 1 skill to learn. The chef will guide you and the members of your small group through the hands...

My 16-year-old daughter attended the class. At the end she expressed some annoyance with the fact that she was the only teenager in the group. There are only two options to attend (under 14 or 15 and above). She did not really find her place among the group and felt quite left out during the talk around the table. Alcohol consumption is also not appropriate at this age. I suggest better matching of content and party or individuation of instruction when needed.

Without a doubt this was one of our favorite things we did during our visit to Rome. From start to finish Angelo was the beat guide. He initially asked us what we wanted to see, but because it was our first time, we were unsure. Angelo took over and showed us Rome’s “Central Park,” as well as Trevi Fountain, the Pantheon, the Colosseum, and many churches. He patiently waited while we got out and took photos. Angelo is charming and enthusiastic. We felt as though we were getting a tour given by an old friend. The day culminated in Angelo not only recommending a lunch spot but calling ahead and getting us a seat.
