Full description
Upon arrival at the meeting point, complete orientation, waivers, and medical forms before a short drive to the trailhead. Hike a short distance through spruce and pine forest before entering the canyon. Explore this water sculpted canyon in summer, or ice filled canyon in winter with ice walking crampons underfoot. After weaving up through the canyon, viewing pictographs, waterfalls, and a variety of interesting rock formations, enjoy a break below a cave. Take in the spectacular natural history, scenery, flora and fauna of the Canadian Rockies with your local guide on this three to four hour hike.

Meeting point

This hike meets inside the Canmore Travel Alberta Visitor Information Centre, after completing an orientation and paperwork you will drive your own vehicle about 15 minutes to the trailhead where the hike will begin. Duration is about 3-4 hours from the meeting time. Please come prepared with a day pack, lunch, water, winter boots, and clothing. It can be well below zero in the winter.
