The location of your climb will vary but always takes place within the surrounding countryside and includes sites like the Canmore Junk Yards, Johnston Canyon, and Haffner Creek. Once there, begin with a safety briefing and listen as your guide teaches you about site safety and awareness. Learn how to walk with crampons and how to belay top rope and lead climbers. This tour will begin as you meet your guide at the Canmore Visitor Centre. It will be at this location that you will complete your orientation and sign your waiver and medical forms before convoying for approximately 45 minutes to the trailhead. Getting to the trailhead includes driving maintained compact gravel roads covered in snow, and winter tires are recommended. Once having arrived at the trailhead, you will hike for 3.5 kilometers and ascend 984 feet. Your moderately-difficult tour will eventually end at a beautiful alpine lake surrounded by cliffs from the towering and picturesque Mount Chester. Following this summit, you will return back to the trailhead. From there you will drive back to the tour orientation point.
