Full description

Get the chance to see lions, elephants, rhinos, hippos, giraffes, and more on a 2-day safari tour from Cape Town. Enjoy 2 game drives and an overnight stay with included dinner and breakfast.

On the first day, depart Cape Town and drive along the scenic coastal road to Cape Agulhas via Hermanus, the whale watching capital of the world. Make a stop at the southernmost tip of Africa to admire the beautiful lighthouse.

Continue on to Garden Route Game Lodge. Here, embark on a sunset safari in an open-air vehicle. Observe a variety of native animals, including elephants, lions, rhinos, giraffes, hippos, and more.

After the safari, settle in for a three-course dinner. Spend the night in one of the beautiful 4-star wooden chalets and admire the clear skies over the lodge.

In the morning, head out for another game drive to see some of the animals you might have missed the evening before. After your drive, tuck into breakfast. Make your way back to Cape Town in the evening.

The tour itself, especially the safaris and the game lodge were first class and left nothing to be desired. In fact, we saw almost all of the animals, the resort isn't that big either. Not so good, however, that some animals such as leopards or giraffes are offered as an extra tour. Unfortunately, the guide of the tour only worked to rule, wanted to save time and always urged or suggested that program items be shortened or omitted. He seemed quite frustrated, it's affecting the group. The minibus was far too small for 11 travelers, especially for such a long tour, so you could have taken a larger version. There wasn't even a bottle of water included. Everything cost-optimized.

Benjamin the guide was amazing, super interesting, he teaches a lot of interesting things, the accommodations are super nice as the swimming pool with a view, everything was super well organized, the only bad thing is that unfortunately it's not a safari, it's a zoo, you can't talk about a safari when there are only 2 hippos, 2 elephants, 4 lions. If you're staying only 1 night you even won't see the giraffe “cause it's too far”. But there are several cheetahs and rhinos that unfortunately nowadays are not easy to find.

Pick up at the hotel worked great. On the way there we made a stop at Cape Agulhas. The safari was great, there was no feeling of a zoo. Only the area of the elephants is disappointing, because you noticed the difference to a national park. Great food and accommodation, as a vegetarian I even got my own menu with choices. On the way home we stopped at Hermanus (seasonal whale spot) and Bettys Bay (penguins). Our guide Gareth was super nice and helpful. However, no attention was paid to masks in the transporter.
