Sintra: Rural and Coastal 4x4 Tour

2. Sintra: Rural and Coastal 4x4 Tour

The adventure begins through the countryside following the centenary tram line, inside Sintra’s rural area towards Colares. You will have the opportunity to see the simplicity of our typical villages, and as proof of this, we will show you the oldest Wine Cellar in the country, where you can get to know a little of Portugal’s winemaking traditions, which remain intact, from the ancient times to the present day. (not available on Sundays) From the wine cellar, we head to the coast to one of our favourite beaches, considered the “Santorini of Portugal”, – a small village found between the ocean and the cliffs – a heavenly location with a natural pool and stunning views. Continue on the coastline towards the most famous beaches in the area, and as we are getting there ahead of the crowds, we are lucky enough to enjoy the vast ocean avoiding the vast “ocean of people instead”. Through paths and trails, on top of the cliffs, we continue of adventure taking you to our secret location, which can only be reached with the help of a 4×4 jeep so off-grid that even most of the locals are unaware of. Try not to lose your breath as this magnificent setting shows you breathtaking landscapes, that we are sure you will never forget! Cross the mountain on an off-road trail and raise some dust on your way to Sintra Center getting to our last visit of the day: the most iconic palace, with the best postcard-like views of the country: Pena Palace.

This tour was a blast!! So much variety made it very entertaining. Gui was our guide, and he was very knowledgeable and fun. He told us amazing stories and made our visit to Quinta de Regaleira unforgettable. We loved the busy day—enjoying the Quinta de Regaleira, then a lovely lunch, then some great spots to look out over the ocean, then off-roading in the Jeep. This was a great way to get an overview of this area, and I totally recommend this tour. Gui was awesome, just saying. . .

It was a wonderful day spent with Adelino Jorge showing us around all the beautiful places. He is a very helpful, wonderful person and guide who loves to share his experiences about Portugal. I from the start had an amazing time till the trip ended. It was a perfect day with the company, weather and Jorge's sense of humour chuckle us in between the road trip. I would recommend it to everybody who wants a relaxed one day trip to Sintra and have fun along the way!

That is a wonderful tour to visit all the important locations around Lisbon! Jorge is a great guide who is flexible, very welcoming and caring a lot about his visitors. He was ready to adjust to our desires, give us a bit more time to see things and answer all questions possible. In a nutshell, this tour worth going to!
